I got a call earlier regarding some TV insurance, but I don’t even have one since my TV’s still covered by warranty. The caller was really pushy, trying to get me to agree to something. When I said no and asked them to cancel any so-called policy they claimed I was renewing, they warned me there’d be a fee! They definitely sounded really convincing though.

Got a call from this number and it was clearly some kind of scam. The voice on the line sounded Asian, which was a bit odd because the number has a Leeds area code. The person pretended to be from an internet company I’m not even with. I’ve since put the number on my block list.

Some bloke with a weird accent called sayin he was from Sky Maintenance, but we don’t even have Sky. He said my TV insurance was expired and somehow knew my name. He asked if all was working fine, I tried not to answer straight away. Then I asked if the chat was being recorded for training or whatever and he mumbled something. I pointed out he should’ve said that at the start and then he just hung up on me. Proper dodgy if you ask me.

This is the third occasion I’ve been called about this scam, each time from a different number. They claim my Sky TV insurance is up and I can grab a cheap two-year deal right now. I ended up wasting some of their time pretending to consider their offer before finally telling them where to go.

They called me with a really strong foreign accent, saying my insurance was somehow linked to my Sky bill and tried to push me into renewing with loads of deals. Around 4:45pm on the 31st of October, I got a ring from a woman with quite a strong accent, made it hard to catch her name or company. She kept insisting I had to pay for an annual maintenance fee for my television, saying it's already expired. I tried telling her I don't have any contract with them or anyone else, but she seemed a bit lost. Then she threw a figure at me, about £12 a month. I told her I’m well aware of my bills and suspected it was a scam. No matter how much I tried to explain, she wasn’t convinced so I just ended the call.
