I recently received an automated call claiming that I owed over a thousand pounds in taxes, threatening arrest if I didn’t settle it immediately. It was a recorded message instructing me to press 1 for assistance, so I did. When a woman came on the line, she mentioned that the tax issues dated back two years. I informed her I had indeed been employed during that period but have unfortunately been without work since January. She inquired whether I could make the payment, to which I replied negatively. She then stated she would explore possible options for me. The only detail she gathered was my current unemployment status.

I received an unexpected call on my mobile from a chap claiming to be with 3 Mobile. He was incredibly insistent, attempting to entice me with a monthly discount on my plan. When he requested my payment information, I inquired why he needed it if he was genuinely representing 3. He even tried to tell me my current payment amount, but he got it all wrong. I decided enough was enough and hung up.
