They told me it was definitely a scam and that they wouldn’t contact people like that. So, from what I gathered, this call looks risky and you should never share any personal info with that number.

Just mess with them a bit and keep them chatting, coz every minute they’re tied up with you is one less minute scamming some poor bloke who’s not on to them. I faked having an account with O2 and when they wanted to send a verification code, obviously they couldn’t. Then they asked if I had a different O2 account, so I told them if I did, there’s no way I’d be handing over the number to a scammer!

I told them I’m waiting for the iPhone 15, and they said if I take the iPhone 14 deal now, they’ll send me the iPhone 15 free when it’s out, and I can keep the iPhone 14. I pretend to agree, ask to be put through to “accounts,” and then just hang up.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming he’s from PCWorld, trying to sell me a brand new iPhone 14. I asked him why I’d need a new phone and where he got my number from. He said it was a great deal and that he’d got my number from my network, but when I asked which one - I’ve got a few lines - he just said goodbye and hung up. Total scam, I’ve never dealt with PCWorld and I don’t have any phone contracts, just SIM-only deals. My phones work perfectly fine anyway.
