Got a dodgy email today claiming I’d received money from Jody Crisostomo. Problem is, I don’t even have a PayPal account. The message said there was suspicious activity on my account and if I didn’t authorise it, I should ring +44 11 3526 5703 right away to stop the payment and get a refund. If I didn’t, it warned me I’d be charged £599 by some automated teller. It also mentioned a transaction ID and said the charge would show up on PayPal within a day. Pretty obvious scam if you ask me!

Just got an email saying there’s some dodgy activity on my account. It said if I didn’t make a payment, to ring them on +44 11 3526 5703 to stop it and get my money back. They threatened to take £599 automatically if I don’t. Thought it was from PayPal, but when I checked my account, there was nothing there at all. No way I’m calling that number, looks like a scam to me.
