Total scam, don’t fall for this.

Got a call from a guy who sounded like he was from overseas, probably some call centre. He kept calling me "mam" and asked if there was any damage to my home recently. The number wasn’t even showing, so I just blocked it. Probably one of those housing repair scams.

Got a call out of the blue, and they didn’t even leave a voicemail. After checking the comments here, I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number. Cheers for the heads up!

Blocked this number straight away, it was one of those dodgy calls about repairs for my house. Definitely a scam.

Really appreciate WCM's help once more. I saw this number had rung me, but I never pick up if I don’t know who it is.

Got a strange call on our landline, which is ex-directory and registered with the TPS. There was this weird noise before they just hung up. Decided to block the number straight away.

Got a random call from someone asking if I was having problems with my house or any building repairs. Didn’t ask for it or anything.

I got a call on my landline here in Scotland. When I answered, there was silence, then as I was about to hang up, I heard a voice quickly vanish. Felt like one of those automatic dialling machines to me.

They rang me up out of the blue, asking about any repairs I might want done around my house. When I mentioned I’m on the Telephone Preference Service, they totally brushed it off and just carried on with the same spiel. Really annoying how they just won’t take a hint.

When I finally got the line through after a bit of a delay, I got a woman with a strong foreign accent going on about Housing Association Repairs, asking if there was anything wrong at my place. I don’t live in any housing association property, so I just ended the call. Something about it just didn’t sit right - seemed like a dodgy scam to me.

It was my home phone that rang, and since just two folks have that number, and I was sure it wasn’t them, I decided to let it ring off. They didn’t leave any voicemail or anything either.

Got a call on my Birmingham landline, answered it, but they just hung up on me without saying a word.

Got loads of calls from 01135252145, and as far as I know we aren't connected to any Housing Association. It definitely felt a bit dodgy, like a scam or something.

I had a feeling it was one of those annoying calls, so I just let it ring off. They never left a voicemail either, which was a bit strange.

Got a call about council and housing association repairs but there was loads of noise in the background, sounded dodgy from the start. I knew it was a scam so just told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call quickly.

Got a call from someone with a strong Asian accent and it was really hard to catch what they were saying. They were trying to sell home improvement stuff. This is the second occasion they’ve rung me, but from a different phone number each time.

The line was super noisy, sounded like a call centre or somethin. I had to say hello a few times before someone answered. Finally, a guy with an Indian accent came on and asked if I wanted any repair work done. I just replied no, cheers, and ended the call.

Got a call from someone claiming to be UK Housing. They just kept going on non-stop, I couldn’t get a word in till I flat out told them to never call me again. If you’ve got any repairs to sort, it’s better to contact your landlords or housing providers directly and maybe ask around your neighbours or mates for recommendations. Don’t trust names like UK Housing - also, with all the static and crackling, I’m pretty sure they’re not even calling from the UK.

It was about 9.30 in the morning when my landline rang. I didn’t answer or say a word, just listened to the dialling sounds, then I ended the call.

It seems that the repair services for renters in the UK were touting their ability to fix issues like dampness, leaks, and cracks in properties. I decided to end the call.

Received a call on Microsoft Teams from this number. When I tried ringing back, it was just automated messages about agents being tied up, but no info on what company it was or what they were offering. Quite frustrating really.

I got a call at work but couldn’t pick up since I was tied up, and they didn’t leave a voicemail. Must be because my number was included in a job ad not long ago.

Got a call where all I could hear was a weird noise for a couple of seconds, then complete silence. I even joked, "No creepy heavy breathing or anything?" haha. Ended the call straight away!

Called a landline earlier and no voicemail was left, which feels like classic phishing behaviour to me.

There’s loads of repair companies in the UK that sort out damp problems and all sorts of other house faults. If you’ve got any housing issues, these services can usually get it fixed. They specialise in stuff like damp and other common repairs around the home.
