He asked if we’d sorted any kind of financial plan for that scenario. Said they could arrange some sort of protection on our property to prevent it. I just ended the call.

I get loads of scam calls but this one was different. A really polite bloke said the government is making older folks sell their homes to cover retirement care costs, but he claimed I could save my house for my family by chatting with someone from his ‘Senior Team’ who would explain what to do. I told him I was renting, and he just hung up straight away. This is really worrying because they seem to be going after only elderly people.

Got a call from a bloke with a British accent, sounded proper official, saying he was calling about a health matter. Claimed his records showed I’d suffered a heart attack and he needed to confirm some details. I asked him who he was and where he was calling from, and he said Dorset. Mentioned I was over 70, but I cut him off and said that wasn’t right. Then he switched it up, saying it was a stroke and changed my age to 60. I just hung up. Seemed really polished but kept yammering on and on! Totally a spam call but way too intrusive about private stuff.

Not sure if it’s some dodgy marketing or outright scam. Either way, calling a number registered with the TPS shouldn’t be happening. Could genuinely scare someone who isn’t paying close attention, given the serious tone he used.

Got a call from these people saying there was some new rule about building regs. They wouldn’t say how they got my phone number. I asked them nicely to stop ringing me and then I blocked the number.

Got a call saying something about a government issue, as soon as I asked who it was, they just cut off. My landline’s on the TPS list so I shouldn’t even be getting these calls. The government really needs to do something about these jokers trying to scam folks.

Got a call from these people today offering insurance to cover the value of our house if one of us ended up needing long-term care in a nursing home. They kept throwing around stuff about it being some kind of government rule, which felt like total fearmongering. Pretty clear it was a scam.
