That’s rubbish though, Microsoft don’t ring up their customers and only find out about issues when you get in touch with them first. I just blocked the number straight away.

Some bloke with an Indian accent called me, said his name was James and that he was from Curry’s PC World. He kept insisting he had a free phone upgrade for me but wouldn’t actually answer anything I asked. Just went on about how it was free. In the end, I cut the call.

I had a very similar experience to what others have mentioned. The caller claimed to be from some Housing Repair Group, saying there were cracks and other issues reported on my home. Since I just moved into a brand new place, it sounded possible at first. I asked him who had actually reported the problems, thinking he’d say the builder or site manager. But he couldn’t give me any proper details and ended up just hanging up on me. Seems like a total scam to me!
