Since I work in finance, I’m pretty clued up on GDPR rules and complaints about cold calls. So I asked her which company she was calling from, but Joan just kept going on about fibre glass being a problem. The real annoyance here is this company constantly phoning me. If I had their name, I’d definitely report them to the Information Commissioner’s Office and push to get them shut down.

They asked if I knew whether my insulation was fibreglass, claiming it’s hazardous according to some British Lung Association statement. Next thing you know, they’ll be inventing groups like the British Left Leg Association! They offered a ‘free inspection’ as well... Absolute nonsense. I’m a chartered surveyor myself (MRICS), and I can tell you these folks are talking rubbish. There’s no rule about lofts needing checks every 18 months, and fibreglass has always been considered just a mild irritant. This kind of call is nothing but a scam from dodgy contractors or crooks. Beware!

Luckily, I’ve got a call screening setup, so she won’t be reaching me unless I decide to waste some time messing with her.
