They rang me three times in just one day. I managed to pick up twice, but didn’t even get the chance to say I wasn’t interested because they just cut off the call before I could speak.

Had a similar thing with Helen. Number was 0203 814 3365. Felt like they might be messing around with spoofing or just using random numbers. When I asked for their website, they just cut me off. Tried calling again and heard that weird disconnection tone. Seems dodgy enough to be a scam if they're being that secretive.

I keep getting calls from Helen, who says she's an Energy Advisor, but it’s clearly a recorded message pretending to be real. She always asks if I’m the homeowner and then goes on about how she can help me save energy. This has happened so many times now. What’s crazy is, no matter what you say - even if you swear or say something totally random - she just carries on politely like nothing’s wrong, repeating the same energy-saving spiel. It’s like they’ve got a script that ignores everything except their sales pitch.

The lady said her name was Helen, but when I pressed her about the company, she was really dodgy. She just said it was an energy efficiency firm for homeowners, but wouldn’t actually give a proper business name. I asked if she could email me the details since I was busy, and she promised to ring me back. Then when I tried to get her to send info without calling, she just cut off. Feels like one of those dodgy scam calls, as others have mentioned too. I’ve blocked the number now.

I got a call from someone called “Helen” who asked if I owned the house and if I’d had an energy check done. I told her straight up that calls like this are usually scams, and she should remove my number and stop bothering me. After that, I ended the call and put her number on my block list. These fraudsters are getting cleverer - this woman’s voice sounded quite English and quite elderly, maybe in her 60s or 70s, which made it less obvious she was lying. I can see how an older person might easily fall for this friendly sounding caller.

I got a call from this woman who sounded totally robotic, like maybe some AI thingy. When I tried to ask her something, she paused for a bit like she was thinking, then just went back to her rehearsed spiel. She said something about setting up government backed energy checks for houses. Proper dodgy in my opinion, cos she spoke pretty clear English and sounded legit, unlike the usual scam calls with strong foreign accents. Definitely felt off and suspicious.

Somebody rang saying they were Helen from some energy survey firm. I saw another post here mentioning it's probably an automated voice, and I gotta say, I wondered the same thing initially. I asked straight up if it was a real person or just a bot, and they replied with "so you’re the homeowner then, right?" Kinda sneaky. I bet loads of folks might end up getting tricked by it. I’ve blocked the number and reported it already.

Got a lot of calls from some dodgy energy scammers, an automated voice called Helen or something. It’s really worrying for people who might be more vulnerable. I’ve got one of those old BT cordless phones and I’m clueless about how to block these numbers. Honestly, it’s so frustrating. I have to pick up anyway since I often get calls from doctors and hospitals, and their numbers keep changing all the time.

Got a call today at 1:08pm from some robotic woman saying I’m the only person in a conference. Then it just went dead silent for ages before they hung up. Pretty strange if you ask me! After seeing other comments saying it might be dodgy, I’m marking it as suspicious and have blocked the number.

So this lady called claiming to be an Energy advisor for our region. When I asked if she worked for Rhondda Cynon Taff Council, she paused and then said yes. I asked once more, and then she just ended the call. Colour me shocked!

So, I got a call from Helen about loft insulation on 26th June 2023 around 10:30 in the morning. She had already rang me earlier that same day at 10:09am, but I told her I wasn’t interested and asked her not to call back. She just hung up after that. The first call came from another number, 01134780208.

I got a recorded call from a lady named Helen, sounded automated but not like a robot, offering free home energy checks but only if you actually own your home. It’s pretty obvious it’s a machine since her voice doesn’t change tone or speed at all. When she asks questions, there’s always a weird pause before replying like she’s searching for what to say. I’d say just save the number as “energy scam” on your phone and block it straight away.

Seriously, don’t ever hand over any details to someone calling out of the blue. The person who shared a bunch of info with the caller definitely made a mistake. Anything you tell these scammers just gets added to their massive database and then they sell that info to other scammers on the dark web. It’s a proper mess waiting to happen.

BEWARE OF PHISHING SCAMS! If you get scam calls, texting the number and details to 7726 helps alert the phone network with a 'suspected scam number' warning. Also, forward scam messages or WhatsApp texts to 7726. Don’t send legitimate business numbers, as this can cause problems. For proof, take screenshots of scam texts and email them to the police at '[email protected]' so they can look into it. If your bank info has been compromised, make sure to contact your bank straight away and report it to Action Fraud on 03001232040 as well. Stay cautious!
