I said I’d get in touch with O2 directly and then ended the call. Not sure if it’s a scam, but I didn’t want to hang about listening to a sales pitch that sounded a bit too good to be true.

I picked up thinking it might be legit and the bloke said he was from O2, saying since I’m a loyal customer (which I’m not really) he wanted to give me a special discount. Told him I was busy dealing with crime as a cop and he didn’t sound too happy about it!
