I was recently contacted by an individual attempting to deceive me into believing that my washing machine cover had lapsed and required immediate renewal. Absolute nonsense, I say! My machine is practically brand new, just four months off the shelf!

Got a call from some Sales and Marketing place the other day. At least they’re polite enough to let you press 9 to stop getting their calls. I’d say do yourself a favour and hit 9 straight away if you’re not interested.

I reckon watch out for those washing machine cover deals - turned out to be a total scam! Tried to get my machine insured, but they just took the money and vanished. Proper dodgy, if you ask me.

Save yourself the hassle and just grab a drink instead, it’s way more worth it.

I got a call from a really polite woman telling me my washing machine’s extended warranty ended today. She kept saying my 18-year-old machine was still covered and I could renew it for £60. I told her I’ve never had any cover before and asked if she could send me the info, but she said sending paperwork by post wasn’t safe due to COVID. In the end, I said no thanks to her offer.

Called from 01135112880, a landline number. They wanted to speak with a Mrs something, but I said it must be the wrong person. Then they just hung up on me.

I saw the number but didn’t bother picking up as it wasn’t familiar to me.

Got a phone call from a woman with a cockney accent claiming she was ringing from PYG about some washing machine insurance. Since I’ve no cover with them, I tried asking some detailed questions, which seemed to really annoy her. Eventually, she just told me to f*** off and hung up. Planning to report it to the ICO.

Somebody really rude was on the phone, bothering my Nan. Made her feel quite upset.

Got a call from 01135112880 claiming they could fix my home appliances. I reckon they were going to ask for some personal details, so I just ended the call straight away, like I do with these kinds of calls.

This number has been ringing me non-stop, but whenever I pick up, there’s nobody there. I’ve decided to block it now since it’s probably some kind of spam. Oh, and for the record, I definitely don’t have any kind of insurance. 01135112880

I didn’t answer it cause I didn't know the number, so not sure who it was.

Got a call from a polite lady wanting to talk to someone called Mr Pakanza. I told her she must have the wrong number as that’s not me, then she just ended the call.

The same lot who scammed my parents before are at it again, this time claiming it's a washing machine cover - just tried ringing me back for more!

I received a call from a woman who inquired whether I was Mr. Murphy. When I replied that I wasn't, she promptly disconnected the line. Quite infuriating, to say the least!

On the 4th of October 2021, I received a rather dubious call from this number, claiming that the warranty on my washing machine had lapsed. I mentioned that I’d just been contacted just the day before with a similar message. The person on the line turned surprisingly aggressive, insisting they hadn’t reached out to me previously. When I pointed out the uncanny timing of the calls, he rudely told me to shove off. This number is definitely suspicious and warrants a closer look, as it’s undoubtedly some sort of scam attempt.

Didn’t bother to leave a voicemail, did they? Quite strange!

Got a call yesterday but as soon as my answerphone kicked in, they hung up. I’m on the TPS and have BT call protect set up, so I really shouldn’t have got the call in the first place.

Got a call from a young lady who sounded like she was trying some sort of washing machine scam. Seemed a bit daft if you ask me.

When I told them my washing machine insurance was still valid, they just went ahead and called me a bloody liar!

I just cut the call off right away. No way am I picking up from that number again.

I didn't pick up as I didn’t know the number, so I let it go straight to voicemail. Just as it switched over, the caller ended the call. I’m guessing it was probably a scam or something like that. Feels like these dodgy calls are coming back now, after being almost non-existent during the covid lockdown period.

I picked up too late and it just went to voicemail, then the caller hung up.

Got a ring from this number, but when I picked up there was just silence. Then a woman popped up asking if I was Mrs ?2... couldn't quite catch the name she said. Told her she had probably got the wrong person, and she ended the call straight away.

Got a call on my landline and it was pretty obvious it was a scam, didn’t even bother waiting for them to finish the message. Like some others have said, my home phone isn’t connected to any of my accounts anyway, so even if what they said wasn’t so ridiculous, I still would’ve just hung up straight away!

They rang but I didn’t answer. No voicemail or anything was left either.

It was one of those annoying spam calls. The moment I answered with a 'hello,' I caught noises that sounded just like a call centre in the background. Definitely going to block that number!

I let it go to the answering machine since I don't usually pick up my landline. I can only assume it's the usual lot of scammers.

I received a call from a woman speaking English who claimed that the warranty on my washing machine was about to expire. When I inquired about the company she represented, she said it was "Whirlpool". I informed her that I didn’t own a Whirlpool appliance and requested to return her call later. She promptly hung up on me. Be cautious, folks-this is definitely a SCAM!
