I said hello but no one answered and the call ended straight away. I messaged my relatives quickly to check but it wasn’t anyone I knew. Have blocked the number now. Had to block a few numbers like this recently, so it’s clear some firms are sharing info and using it to make calls right after Christmas, which is just what we need, isn’t it?

I received a call from this number earlier today. It had a foreign ring to it, possibly from India or a nearby region. The caller claimed to be from a company named Beneficial. Initially, I wondered if it was my bank reaching out. They tried to ask me some questions, but when I inquired about how they obtained my number, I mentioned I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service. At that point, they abruptly hung up on me!

They phoned me and it took a really long time before they finally said hello. The background noise from the call centre was so loud, I could barely make out what they were saying. When I told them I couldn’t answer questions because I was at work, the lady pleaded with me, saying she needed me to cooperate for her to get paid today.
