Some woman from India phoned me from 0333-678-0514, asking for my personal details. She said it was to remove me from their call list. Then she said they wanted to do a “survey” or something. When I asked to put her on hold so I could check who they really were, she just cut me off right away.

This number, along with a few others, has been ringing me nonstop for months. The company’s called Beneficial Opinions ([#]beneficialopinions[###]/). I've told them every single time to take me off their list (sometimes they phone me up to 4 times a day) but nothing changes. I even tried calling back, but the automated message said there’s some technical issue and they can't answer me, though it gave me a different number to call (0161 360 0000) to opt out, which I’ve done now. Hoping this actually sorts it. If not, I’ll have to report them to the TPS soon.

Someone else mentioned the name Beneficial and that’s exactly what I caught when I picked up. Their aim is to get your personal info and pass it to other scammers. Sometimes they even use voice changers to fake a British accent, but it sounds awful and kinda funny. The only real way to block them is by getting a call blocker app.

I asked this bloke 'Jason' from Beneficial where he got my number, and he claimed it was from some CBI thing (customer something, but couldn’t quite catch it 'cause of his strong accent). When I asked if Beneficial purchased my details from CBI, he first said yes, but then suddenly changed it to no, saying I wasn’t getting what he meant. I then calmly asked him to take me off their list, and he flat out said ‘no’ quite rudely, handing me over to another person who just kept saying ‘hello’ and acted like he wasn’t listening at all.

Don’t fall for it, it’s definitely a phishing scam - don’t give them any info. They kept ringing for ages, I reckon it was around 14 minutes, trying to get me to spill something. Only hung up when I said I was gonna post their number on my Scam Watch blog. No legit survey company sticks around that long if you’re not interested in answering. So yeah, they’re up to no good and probably want your info for some dodgy reason.

Seems like some loan company keeps ringing, asking for a woman called Natalie. Every time my missus answers, they ask if she’s Natalie, and if not, they want to speak to her about a loan claim. Thing is, we don’t know anyone by that name and we've never applied for a loan with this number. When I pick up, the caller just hangs up straight away. We must’ve had about six calls before I decided to block the number. Still, it keeps popping up on my phone a couple of times a week. I got a call from 01134990057 saying they were with some phone company I’d never come across before. There was loads of laughing in the background and they didn’t even give a proper name. Felt like a total sham to me.
