I received a message on my voicemail today, and interestingly, I had a similar call just days ago. It makes me wonder if I’m being specifically targeted, or if this is merely part of a broader scheme by these scammers. The frustrating part is that you really can’t tell until you dig deeper into it, like I’m doing here.

I got a call on my phone from some bloke asking if I owned a Microsoft PC. He claimed he’d gotten into my computer and threatened to erase all my data. I told him he was just a scammer and I wasn’t about to be threatened. Then he started laughing and even used my full name, saying I’d regret it and that I’d end up paying. His voice sounded really threatening and full of confidence, which I imagine would freak out a lot of people. When he saw I wasn’t falling for it, he ended up swearing at me before I ended the call.
