The individual on the line had a pronounced foreign accent, likely from India. It felt rather suspicious, as if they were on a mission to snag my medical and personal information.

Vanquis credit card company are total vultures. Their customer service is awful, always rude and treating you like rubbish if you're even a day late on a payment. Even if you arrange a repayment plan, they keep hassling you for extra cash. Definitely not a pleasant experience dealing with them.
