On Thursday 18th March 2010, at about 1.14pm, I got a call from someone named Sam who said he was from the Heating Advisory Centre based in London. He was talking about some new Govt scheme offering grants for boilers and claimed our boiler was over 10 years old. When I asked him how he knew that, he just ended the call. I then used 1471 to check the number and tried calling back but got a busy tone. Tried again a couple of hours later and it just kept ringing. For your info, it’s a landline number.

Picked up the phone and the guy quickly said, "Hi, this is Sam, ringing about the boiler replacement programme. You’re the homeowner, correct?" But I hadn’t heard from him before, so it wasn’t a follow-up call. I asked where he was calling from and then he just ended the call. Pretty sure this is a dodgy scam.

On 4th March 2021 at about 5.45pm, I got a call from someone called Chris who said he was from an energy firm. He asked if I owned the property, but I wasn’t comfortable answering as I had no idea who he was or his reasons. When I pressed him about why he was calling, he just ignored my question and started babbling about mould. I told him nicely not to waste my time as I wasn’t interested, and eventually both of us ended the call. Honestly, I’d steer clear of this number - it felt like a harassing nuisance to me and came off as quite pushy. Definitely smells like a scam to me.
