Some bloke said he was from L & G, wanted a chat about my life insurance. I said I don’t have any. Then he goes, "You’re gonna die." I replied, “Yeah, bit of a given for all of us, isn’t it?” He ended up hanging up, muttering some pretty rude stuff.

The woman on the line sounded Asian and asked me to verify my name, which she clearly struggled with (seriously, Richard isn't that hard to say?). I got a call from this number the other day. The guy on the phone, sounded asian, started by asking if my name was . I didn’t say yes or no, just asked what he wanted. He said he was from Easy Claims and told me I was due a payment of £3750. Then he said my address, like the first part of it exactly. I asked if he’ll be sending a cheque. He said yes, if I confirmed the address. I told him I’d let him know when the cheque arrives. He suddenly raised his voice asking if that was my address. I asked why he’s yelling, and he just hung up. I’ve blocked the number now.

They tried ringing me about 4 times today and when I picked up, they asked for my name, which I never give out. I told them I’m on the TPS and asked them to take me off their call list. I received two phone calls from a particular number, which claimed that I had successfully claimed for Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) and was eligible for £3800. The caller suggested that in order to avoid paying taxes on this amount, I would need to take out a life insurance policy for a minimum of three months. It was unsettling to note that the caller already possessed my personal details - including my name, phone number, address, and even the bank from which I had made the PPI claim. However, I made sure not to divulge any further information during the conversation. Upon expressing my reluctance to take out any insurance policy and urging the caller to simply send the alleged award of £3800 via post, the call abruptly ended.

Got two calls around 8.25 and then another one at 8.45 this morning (18 April). These weird calls have been happening for about a week now. I’ve stopped saying hello straight away when I pick up because they’re always silent. I just wait for them to speak, but all they do is keep quiet and hang up.

This bloke with an Asian accent claimed he was Michael (yeah right, no way) and said all calls get recorded for training or something. I told him to just get to the point and asked what he wanted. Then he goes straight back into his script, saying his name’s Michael again. I said I was hanging up and then he quickly said my PPI claim was approved. I found that hilarious since I never had one. Blocked the number straight away and honestly, I’d tell everyone else to do the same - looks like a total scam to me.

This number rings me almost every day with a new story. One time it’s supposedly Marks and Spencer bank saying there’s an issue with my credit card - which I don’t even have. Another time it’s Talk Talk or BT claiming I’m due a refund for broadband I’ve never used with them. Then they say my PC’s got a Windows problem that needs fixing right away - except I don’t own a PC! Looks like some overseas call centre pretending to be local just to dodge call blockers. Went through the reviews and wow, this 'business' has some really odd calls! They rang saying there was a problem with my washing machine, I just laughed and told them to stop calling me. I've yelled at my washing machine more than I have at these people, it's definitely in trouble now!

Totally a scam, I’m with you on this one. Sounds like they want you to say “yes” so they can use it for some HSBC voice ID nonsense. Best to just ignore and block them. I told the bloke to stick his info where the sun don’t shine and told him to have a good life. He claimed to be from Aviva.

Someone rang asking for my missus. I wasn’t following so I said to just remove me from the list. Then they just went quiet and hung up.

Got a call from a lady with an accent asking for me by my old surname, which I haven’t used in ages. I told her she must have the wrong number, which she did, and she seemed a bit taken aback before she just ended the call. What do these folks even hope to gain from this kinda thing?

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying she was from British Gas, asking for my wife by her name. I told her she wasn't here, then she tried to get my name but I refused to give it. She wouldn’t explain why they were ringing even though I asked a few times. Felt like they were just fishing for personal info. They ended the call pretty quick. (British Gas wouldn't have my wife's name, so it definitely wasn't them despite what she said.)

A polite gentleman from India called and correctly stated my name, postcode, and house number. He asked me to confirm if that was indeed my address. I declined to confirm (even though it was!). He repeated my details once again and asked if they were correct. In response, I reiterated that they were not, and he abruptly ended the call.

They were trying to fish for my personal info, total scam alert. I didn’t give them anything they asked for. Honestly, don’t ever hand over your details, it’s just not worth it. Best thing to do is just hang up and ignore them completely. Just pretend they’re not even there.

I have no clue who called me from 01134575414. I stopped picking up when unknown numbers come through cause they usually just keep ringing all day, at least three times or more. My phone’s pretty ancient and doesn’t even have an option to block calls. So annoying!
