Some bloke called 'Adam' (which I reckon wasn’t his real name) said he was ringing from a home repair firm offering to cover costs for some jobs around my place. I told him cheers but no thanks, yet he kept going. I had to say, ‘Can you just listen? I’m not interested, thanks.’ Then he cuts in with ‘Well, why don’t YOU listen to me?’ so I gave him a good telling off before slamming the phone down.

Loads of firms claiming to do air source heat pumps, but honestly, check everything out properly before you decide, even if it's supposedly free through some govt scheme. Not all the reviews are great and these things can really hike up your electric bills in the long run.

Somebody called saying they were from a car cashback firm with exclusive offers in my postcode region. They asked if I owned a used car. I told them no, I’m on motability. They just hung up after that.

Got a call from a home renovation outfit saying they give free upgrades on all sorts, like bathrooms, wet rooms, boilers, glazing, and rewiring - basically everything. They wanted to check if I qualified for these improvements supposedly covered by the government. It sounded a bit suspect, so I told them I wasn’t interested and ended the call.

When I asked how they got my number, they said it was from the national database. I told them no thanks and then they just ended the call.

Got a ring from some bloke named Adam saying he’s doing home improvements around my postcode. He reckons the work can be done for free or we can pay if we fancy. Honestly, when will these annoying calls ever end!

The person who rang just did the same old silent call followed by hanging up, no message or anything. This isn’t the first time either, they did the exact same thing on 02/05/19. If anyone wants to reach me, they need to leave a message with their details and explain why they’re calling. If I think it’s important or worth my time, I might get back to them. But if they don’t leave a message, I’m just not gonna bother calling back.

The second time, a really quiet woman spoke but I couldn’t catch what she said so I ended up hanging up. Dunno if it’s legit or not, but I’m just gonna block the number.

i flagged this as suspicious - coz the very nice girl i ended up chatting with (totally by mistake, i normally ignore unknown numbers) said they found my name from some national uk database. she said its a "list of uk criminals" (which i defo aint on!). said my number is listed there too! (according to her!). ####dont answer#### since she wasn't straight with me, why would she be honest with anyone else?

this is mayfair home improvements - i tried returning the call and got a recorded message. my BT call protect blocked it, so this number is on their blacklist. probably because they make loads of unwanted calls. the company looks genuine tho, they have a website, contact info, and a phone number. if you ring back, you can choose to opt out of further calls. their leeds address is given as office 10, first floor, pavilion business park, royds hall road, leeds, ls12 6aj. so i'd say they're more annoying than dodgy - just trying to drum up business.

Typical clueless idiots who can't figure out how to leave a voicemail and just keep quiet, then hang up before any real person can pick up the phone. If you're feeling brave, you might give them a ring back, but I'd seriously warn against it. Chances are your call will be sent through to a premium or international number that’s not properly monitored, and you’ll probably end up getting spammed by more scammers as well.

I reckon this is from Carphone Warehouse. After five persistent calls, I finally picked up and firmly requested they cease contacting me, especially as my son is currently in hospital - the last thing I need is any added pressure. Despite making my wishes clear, I’ve received two more calls since that conversation. I’ve already eliminated the previous number, but I’m quite certain this is the same lot. If they try again, I'll have no choice but to get in touch with their head office to lodge a complaint, particularly since I've explicitly stated my disinterest.
