I got a call saying my pension firm had gone bust, which wasn’t true, and they claimed they could assist me in reclaiming my money. What freaked me out was that they knew both my pension provider’s and broker’s names. Total con job - best to just ignore and block them.

I’m pretty sure this is some kinda scam. The bloke on the phone kept going on about a pension review, which sounds just like some scheme I had the misfortune to come across about a decade ago. I was sharp enough back then not to fall for it. He said this company could recover my lost money, probably for some fee, I reckon. When I told him I hadn’t put any money in, he then asked if I’d lost cash on any other SIP investments, like he didn’t quite believe me. Honestly, I wouldn’t trust this call at all and wouldn’t bother answering it again.
