They promptly ended the call when I attempted to ring back after checking with 1471 on my landline. Why do they persist in calling?

I picked up the call, and to my surprise, the caller seemed to know my name. They inquired if I was indeed who they were looking for, I confirmed, and then-just like that-they disconnected. If this is some sort of debt collection agency, I'm puzzled about why they would reach out to me, as I have no outstanding debts at all. Very odd indeed!
