Somebody rang me saying they were from StepChange and wanted to offer help with my debts. When I asked a few questions to check who they really were, they just dropped the call. Pretty obvious they weren't legit StepChange, since I know they wouldn't be calling outta the blue at 7 in the evening like that.

They asserted there was an issue with my computer and urged me to install a specific application so they could access my device remotely and sort it out. Curiously enough, this so-called technician was surprisingly convincing, yet I exclusively use Apple products.

Got a call from this number saying they were from Microsoft about my PC. They even knew my last name and said there were error alerts coming from my computer. They told me they were calling from Reading, but the number looked like it was from Leeds.
