Got a call claiming to be from HSBC, they already had my sort code and account number, said there'd been some dodgy transactions on my business account. Then they told me my PC was infected with something called zeus malware and offered to connect me to their IT team to sort it out. I called my actual bank straight away - definitely a scam.

I didn’t pick up since I had no idea who was calling. If it was really urgent, they would of left a message, but nope - nothing. Pretty sure it’s just spam, so I’ve blocked the number now.

I’m not really sure, but it seems the number belongs to Wavecrest Networks Ltd. They were pretty quick and helpful when I called, telling me to get in touch with the police. Since the calls keep coming - they’ve rung me 12 times just today! - I’ve gone ahead and reported the whole thing to Ofcom myself.

i'm pretty sure my phone number isn't on any business lists i know of, and ive already signed up with the tps so i dont get those annoying sales calls.
