Classic accident scam. I played along, chatting about my “accident.” When he caught on I was messing about (told him my old Reliant Robin had been crushed by a lorry and lacking a roof was a real struggle for me), he threatened to keep ringing because I’d wasted his time. I just said thanks and mentioned that our calls get recorded. Then I ended the call!

Scammmm for sure, total pain in the neck. They used to ring a couple of times a day when I wasnt home, now they keep calling me when I’m here but I dont know the number so I just ignore it. What an utter pest this caller is! They keep ringing up and probing whether I've had an accident within the past two years. It's maddening! Sometimes it even comes across as a pre-recorded message. You pick up the phone thinking you're having a chat with a real person, only to be greeted by a woman who goes on to rattle off a series of questions. It sounds so convincing that you don’t immediately catch on to the fact that it's just a recorded spiel - such crafty tech being misused by these lowlifes. Got a call from a guy called Barry, sounded like he was from some "accident investigation team" with a really thick foreign accent. He asked me "how are you today?" I told him I was fine until I picked up his call. We've got a call blocker but these scammers are super persistent and always change numbers. Think I'll invest in one of those phones with a call guard built-in, so it only rings for people we actually wanna talk to.

Got a call from Sean claiming to be with The Accident Investigation Department. Apparently, someone hit the back of my car at some point in the past couple of years. He asked me to say when exactly it took place. I told him I hadn’t got any payout and my car’s in perfect shape, but I couldn’t say when or where it supposedly happened. After about six minutes chatting, Sean just ended the call.

Had a bunch of these calls in the past few days. Looks like the classic car crash scam. Sometimes the number on caller ID showed a local code, which was confusing. Pretty sure these dodgy callers are abroad cos the accent never changes. I just ended the call straight away. Proper pain when you’re expecting a call that actually matters. From my experience, the TPS doesn’t help much even when the calls are supposedly from the UK. They just say the number’s fake or something and that’s the end of it!!!

Got a call from an Indian woman about some sort of accident claim or something. I asked who she said she was trying to reach, and she said Mr Brian Collins at 21 Beech Grove. I told her I wasn’t that person and that wasn’t my address. She said sorry and then ended the call. Apparently, this Brian Collins is a company director near Knaresborough. Seemed dodgy to me, so I wouldn’t bother answering unless your name’s Brian and you’re from Yorkshire, lol.
