There's this woman with a really thick Indian accent who keeps ringing me, asking for a Martin Lodge. I've told her loads of times there’s no Martin Lodge here and she's dialing the wrong number. But she never listens, always insists that this is the correct number. I usually have to raise my voice to make her get that no one by that name lives here and to stop calling. Today when I picked up, she even called me Mrs Lodge! I told her again she's got the wrong number. I asked if maybe someone else who speaks English better could help - bit cheeky, I know, but she comes across quite rude herself. She just kept chatting away, so I ended up ignoring her until she finally hung up, realising I wasn’t going to reply.

I use BT and their caller reject feature is ace. It shows you who called but your phone never rings ‘cos it blocks the call before it gets through. You don’t even need to be a BT customer to get a phone like this. Proper handy if you want to avoid annoying calls!

Today, 7th April 2017 at about 4:45pm, I got a call from this number. When the answerphone message ended, no one said anything. I checked my caller ID using 1471 and it told me I’d had a call at 4:45pm and to press 5 if I wanted to call back, but warned there’d usually be a cost for that service. I just got rid of the call straight away. Does anyone know how to block these annoying calls for good?

No idea who it was. The person on the line sounded foreign and kept asking for someone who doesn't live here. He said maybe his info was wrong, but I had a feeling it was one of those 'while I've got you, fancy buying something?' tricks. I'm registered with TPS, so this must've slipped through somehow - not very reassuring. I just hung up. If you see this number pop up on your caller ID, best to just ignore it.

I struggled to grasp all the details as the individual spoke rather rapidly and had a noticeable accent, yet she was exceedingly polite, suggesting I should ring them back at a time that suits me better (as if I’d fall for that!). I managed to catch snippets about "retirement savings" and "reducing utility bills," and although they mentioned their company's name, I only caught the tail end, something like "UK limited." It’s transparent as day that it’s a scam; I just wish these nuisance calls would cease already!

Since I got a new landline after moving last year, this number, along with others very similar, has been bugging me with constant nuisance calls. This number called me not long ago. A woman with a harsh tone and a heavy African accent kept asking for my full name, address and postcode. I never gave her any details. She was really pushy and spoke nonstop. I ended up turning my radio louder and put the call on speaker. I got a call the other day from someone with a strong African accent. I told him straight away that I speak English fine, but the weird thing was he called me Mr Rakish or something like that. He claimed to be from some sort of savings scheme. These scammers have this trick where they mess with your area code on the phone so it looks like the call is coming from the UK, but actually it’s from somewhere else, like the USA or worse. I tried to track down the number and it turned out it was just some hackers or scammers pulling a con. Totally dodgy.
