Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming there had been a car accident. I questioned him on where he got my number, and he mentioned something like the Road Traffic Accident Authority. I told him that was rubbish and he was trying to scam me, but he denied it. I reminded him I'm on the TPS list and asked him to take my number off his records. He said he’d ring back anyway. I told him not to bother, but he kept insisting. We'll see if he actually calls again. Funny thing is, I don't even own a car.

So I got a call saying it was about a car crash that wasn’t my fault. Thing is, I don’t even drive! They kept asking if I was sure I didn’t drive - like I wouldn’t know if I did or not? Honestly, what nonsense. Then suddenly the call just cut off. I’m really curious how they got my number and info in the first place. This feels totally fake and dodgy to me. Taking someone’s details without permission and making up stories about accidents is illegal, right? The data protection laws exist for exactly this kinda thing.

Something almost the same happened to me, I told the bloke straight up that he was involved in some kind of scam and that they were clearly dodgy. He wouldn’t say where he was calling from. Got a call from a woman who sounded Asian, claiming I’d been in an accident sometime in the last couple of years. I told her to wait because I was putting her through to the local Police Fraud Team. She insisted it wasn’t a scam and said she had an insurance company report about the supposed accident, trying to offer help. I hung up once but she kept going, so I had to firmly say goodbye again and just ended the call. How do these scammers even manage to keep using phone lines like this for cold calling? Proper annoying way to kick off the day!

Got a call this morning from this number, some guy called 'John' with an American accent but sounded Asian, saying he was from Microsoft. He claimed someone hacked into my PC for dodgy stuff like porn and online gambling, and if any debts piled up, I'd be responsible. He tried to get me to sit at my computer while he guided me through some “fix.” I told him I’d have my son check it out, but he said because my son isn’t with Microsoft, he couldn’t help and it had to be me since I pay the broadband bill. I wasn’t having any of it and told him I wasn’t going to do anything since I didn’t know who he was before hanging up. This isn’t the first time I’ve had calls like this - these scam calls really need to be stopped by someone proper.

I just got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming she was from Microsoft and said hackers were on my PC. This was the final call of many I’d already had this morning, so I told her off for being the real crook. She still kept pushing me to turn on my computer. My mum’s been getting a load of calls from the same number about accident claims and computer issues, or sometimes just silence, and it's really getting to her. I've managed to block that number now, but I’m sure they’ll just ring from somewhere else next.

Got a call from this number earlier. A woman with an Asian accent said she was calling from Accident Compensation Ltd, mentioning someone at my place had some sort of accident within the past 2 and a half years. I asked her for the exact date of this supposed accident but she said the details were locked away in their system. I told her I’m on the TPS list and that what they’re doing is illegal, plus I haven’t had any accidents. Told her if she rings back I’ll take it further, then ended the call.

Got a ring from this number claiming I’d been in an accident going back a couple years or so. Figured I’d have a bit of a laugh with the lady on the other end. So I played along with what she was saying, even nodded to some of her lines (though I haven’t actually had any accident). After a few questions, I told her I hadn’t made it through the crash and that she was chatting to a ghost on the phone. Strangely, she kept the convo going for a good few more minutes and even said “have a nice day” before I ended it. Proper weird, but funny!

This is the third time today that this number has called me. A man with an Asian accent claimed he was ringing about an accident I supposedly had. When I questioned how he knew about it, he said he got the accident details from an insurance firm. I asked which company but he couldn’t give me a name, nor could he say what company he was calling from. He couldn’t answer any of the other questions I threw at him and then just ended the call abruptly. I’m signed up with the TPS but still keep getting these scam calls on both my landline and mobile - it’s really frustrating.

Got a ring from someone called "Albert" who claimed I’d been in some kind of accident. Sounds dodgy right from the start, but Albert wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed. I asked him for his birth date and his mum’s maiden name to make sure it was really him. He gave me his birthday but had no clue what his mum’s maiden name was and said his favourite colour was blue instead. After that, he got all defensive about sharing personal stuff. Pretty obvious it’s just a scammer trying to fish for info, so best to give them the cold shoulder - politely, of course.
