Today I got a ring from this number and they started with that spiel about £300 and £1000 payments to Amazon. If you press 2, it takes you to this call centre where the person on the line had an Indian accent. I figured it was a dodgy scam and ended the call pretty quick.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS I got a call from 01132706015 on my home phone at about 9:53am on the 25th April 2024. The voicemail said something about suspicious charges, nearly a £1000, related to a money transfer and something about Amazon too. They told me to press 2 to talk to someone. Honestly, I hope these fraudsters get caught or something worse!!

Got calls two days in a row from someone saying his name was Steven, sounded like he was reading off a script and mumbling. He never gave me a chance to respond before hanging up. The number was from BT but you can’t ring back, which is a big red flag. I always stay clear of giving out info to companies that don’t let you verify who’s actually calling. Definitely a dodgy scammer trying it on. Lesson learnt: never trust cold calls from any service that won’t let you ring them back.
Steven
