Got a ring from some bloke abroad, asked straight up for me by my name. Said he wouldn’t keep me long and that he was calling for some company. I just ended the call right there. Have since blocked the number through BT Call Protect.

I usually don’t say a word, and just like typical call centres, the line hangs up real quick. When someone calls with a proper reason, they tend to say hello first - silence makes anyone legit feel uneasy. As call centres get trickier, we’ve got to be just as smart: pick up, say nothing, and watch the chaos unfold. It’s a bit of a laugh, really.

I got a call and there was silence for like a whole minute, then finally someone said hello. But as soon as I replied back with hello, they just ended the call!
