Got a call from someone pretending to be the NHS. I’ve just found out I’ve got aggressive cancer, which was missed because of covid, so I kept listening thinking maybe it was connected. Then they started talking about life insurance - that’s when I realised it was a scam. Hung up and blocked straight away.

He repeatedly insisted he was genuinely calling from the NHS. When he attempted to verify an address I last used five years back, I pointed out that the NHS ought to have my current details. I wrapped up the conversation politely, wishing him a pleasant day before ending the call.
