Received a call just before noon at 11.56, but as the number was unfamiliar, I decided against answering it, especially since my husband, who’s been feeling poorly, was catching some much-needed sleep. I did a quick search on the number and, lo and behold, it turns out to be one of those pesky scams. We’re on the Telephone Preference Service list and our details are ex-directory too. To dodge these intrusive calls, I've saved all our mates in my contacts; I only pick up for personal numbers or locals, assuming that if it’s important, the caller will leave a voicemail. Honestly, it’s high time these scammers were put in their place.

I received a rather annoying call from someone insisting that my loft insulation was no good and could lead to condensation and dampness issues. It baffles me how he could make such sweeping statements without having conducted a proper inspection first! I frequently check my loft, and I can assure you there are no signs of any damp or condensation whatsoever. This feels like nothing more than a con!

Got a call from someone about loft insulation causing mould and damp. They said they wanted to do a survey, but as soon as I told them I was aged 30-50, they just ended the call. Bit weird, really.

Caller identified himself as Chris, claiming to represent the energy company for my area. When he inquired whether I owned the property, I was taken aback and asked for clarification. Before I could get a proper answer, he abruptly ended the call. This happened around 5:50 PM. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Had a call from someone claiming to be an energy advisor, sounded like a total scam to me, same old story as always.

Some bloke called me saying he was from Sky Broadband and told me my account needed sorting. I asked him a few questions, then the line just cut off. I tried calling back that same number and got a recorded message from a woman (didn't catch her name) saying she'd call me back if I left my number. I did, but no luck so far. Funny thing is, the guy who called me first was definitely a bloke named "Chris"!

Got a call outta the blue about my attic insulation being over 30 years old and apparently messed up from dampness. The bloke was trying to set up some surveyor to check it out. I kept telling him I wasn’t bothered but he just kept going on and said if I don’t cooperate, someone will come round regardless - though he claimed he didn’t even know where I live. Proper pushy, that one.

Got a call from this number earlier today while I was doing some shopping. I'm on the ex-directory list, so I'm not sure how they managed to get ahold of my digits. My phone’s set up to make unknown callers identify themselves, but this one didn’t leave any voicemail. I looked up the number here and decided to block it straight away.

Watch out for scams! Got a call on my home phone from someone claiming to be "Chris, your local energy advisor." I told him straight away it sounded dodgy, and he just hung up. He spoke with a nice British accent though, which threw me off a bit. This isn't the first time I've had one of these calls about some "local energy advisor" - the last one came from another number, had a thick foreign accent, and got quite rude when I started asking questions.

My landline just got a call from 01132225412 about 10 minutes back. I didn’t pick up myself, let the answer machine handle it, but there was nothing recorded. After looking it up here, I reckon I handled it alright.

Got a very pushy person on the phone the other day, who clearly didn't listen at all, saying there’s some huge issue happening with loft insulation nationwide. They were trying to get me to agree to a supposedly ‘free’ inspection and a detailed report - total nonsense! Took ages to end the call, but once I told them straight up I wasn’t interested in anyone snooping in my loft, they just hung up on me. Trust me, it’s a con; just block the number!

I got a call from that number at 12:58, but as soon as my answerphone finished, they just hung up right away. I had a feeling it was probably a real person on the other end, not a robot.

Got a call from 01132225412, seemed like it was from abroad but the guy claimed he was some local energy consultant. As soon as I asked why he was calling from an international number, he just ended the call. Looks like they're using overseas lines to dodge consumer rules.

Some bloke rang me up claiming to be an energy consultant, saying our loft insulation might be causing damp and should be inspected every couple of years. I told him there's no damp here and that my hubby’s a builder anyway. He just said thanks and ended the call. Something about it didn’t sit right with me.

Someone called claiming to be ‘Chris’ from some Installation Helpdesk in Reading or something like that. He mentioned he’d found my phone through some Renewable Energy list, probably because I’m a homeowner and have done upgrades previously, or so he said. I found the whole thing a load of rubbish and just ended the call. My number is ex-directory and I’m signed up with the TPS, so I’m really curious which firm might’ve passed on my info without asking me.
