Got a call from someone claiming to be Jack's history tutor, said Jack didn’t do well in class and that they’d send me an email with more info. Thing is, I’m 23 and definitely don’t have any kids in school. Bit strange if you ask me. No way I’m returning that call.

Received a call from a chap claiming to be “Mr Reid, Jack’s history tutor” from Leeds. Apparently, Jack had a rather unpleasant experience during Period 5, and he mentioned he would follow up with an email detailing everything, so I could have a word with him when he returns home. The thing is, I don’t reside anywhere near Leeds, nor do I have a child, which sets off alarm bells. Naturally, I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number. Clearly, something's not right!

But if you get a strange text telling you ‘your child isn’t in P2, call this number and choose option 3,’ I’d recommend phoning the school directly instead of replying to the text. Some pupils who aren’t actually part of Garforth Academy have received this message, so please be careful.
