I have been receiving several calls in the past 48 hours, but whenever I answer, no one says anything and they abruptly end the call. On one occasion, I even got a voicemail with an automated voice simply saying "Goodbye". Does anyone have any information about the individuals responsible for these annoying calls?

Got a few calls today where they just said hello and then ended the call immediately.

Got called 4 times today but when I picked up, there was no one there. After about 20 seconds, some automated voice came on just saying "Good bye!" I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now. Seems dodgy to me.

I said it was me, and he said he was Jimmy but the accent sounded off. He tried asking where I lived so I joked, “Are you coming over for a cuppa then?” Next thing he told me to “buzz off” and ended the call. Strange one!

Yesterday, I received several phone calls from someone claiming to be from Consumer at Home. They pressurized me into answering their questions and accused me of being unhelpful to their charity when I refused to cooperate. I explicitly asked them to remove my contact details and stop calling me. To my surprise, they responded by accusing me of wasting their time and asked why I was calling them. This unpleasant communication continued today as I have already received three calls from them.

Got a call from someone with a really strong Indian/Bengali accent, but the connection was awful. They said my name and then checked if I lived at an address they mentioned. It was right, but I moved out 8 years ago, so whatever they had on their records was seriously out of date. Definitely seemed like just a dodgy spam call with no proper info.

However, before I could utter a word, they asked me to verify my address. I explained that I was away on holiday and unable to chat. The caller, who had quite a heavy accent, insisted that it wouldn't take long of my time. I firmly stated that I wouldn’t be giving any additional time as I was supposed to be enjoying myself on holiday. I also reminded him that I’d signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, indicating that I shouldn’t be receiving such calls. I insisted that he ensure my details were eliminated from their list. He abruptly said goodbye and ended the call. The very next day, I was met with three missed calls, and one time I did answer, it was another caller with an accent who hung up unceremoniously when I mentioned I couldn't engage. I shot them a message indicating I'd report them if they persisted. Sure enough, later that day they called again and continued on the following day with three additional calls. I fired off another message threatening to report them, and since then, nothing! I’m now gearing up to file a complaint!

Frustrated, I dropped them a message stating I would report them if they called again. Sure enough, they rang later that day and three times the following day! I sent another message warning them again about the report threat, and ever since then, it's been quiet on their end. Looks like it's time to escalate this and file a complaint!

A man called around 12.02 on 19/08/2017, sounded like he might have an Indian or Asian accent. When I asked who he was or why he was calling, he just kept insisting if Mr xxxxx was there. He was quite rude and started being abusive, so I ended the call.

I’ve been in all afternoons around 1pm for the last week waiting by the phone! Most days no one picks up, but on 16.08.2017, someone called back and said their name was Eric Smith. I told him he didn’t sound like any Eric Smith I knew, and he just chuckled. When I asked for his number, he said it was confidential, so I told him mine was too. Then Eric just hung up on me!

Got seven calls within a day! Didn’t pick up any, and after seeing what people say here, I’m gonna block the number.
