I got a call from some electrical insulation firm, when I asked if they were trying to sell me anything, the bloke went quiet for a bit then just kept reading off whatever script he had. When I pressed him again about the selling bit, he got all uneasy and went quiet once more. Eventually he just hung up after I asked if I’d ever called them before (which I hadn’t). To me, it smelled like a total scam.

Got a call earlier today from someone saying they were with an energy firm supposedly supported by the government. They wanted me to arrange an insulation survey. The caller was really persistent and it was hard to end the call. After saying I wasn’t interested, I had to just hang up or they would keep pushing. He didn’t seem to know much about insulation at all, didn’t even mention the mu factor, which I know they’ve used for decades. Couldn’t answer any of the questions I threw at him. Pretty clear he was just trying to get some business, nothing genuine.

Got a call from someone called "Chris" who said he was from the "Insulation Advisory Line" in Reading. Like other calls I've had, he mentioned some dodgy insulation put in under an old government scheme that could be causing damp in the loft. He said a free inspection by an energy advisor nearby was needed. He also claimed he found my unlisted number on the "Renewable Energy Database". Wouldn't share any number for me to ring back, just said a manager would ring me within the hour. About 15 minutes later, I got a call from 01603 976975, which I decided to ignore.

Got a call from 01132057799 claiming to be from some Insulation advice line. When I asked for a contact number, they acted like they misheard me and just kept on talking. When I pressed them again for a phone number, they said they couldn’t give one. I ended the call there and then. They said my loft insulation was causing issues. Definitely a SCAM, stay clear!

Oh great, ‘Chris’ again - this bloke is always so busy! He says he’s ringing from an energy firm and reckons I’m the homeowner (but he doesn’t even know my name). I asked him what’s the point of the call if he’s gonna ask personal stuff. He just won’t give me a straight answer and just keeps repeating the question. I told him it’s none of his concern. Then he goes on about free insulation. I said I’m not bothered, thanks.

Today he said his name was Chris, but I’m starting to notice the same voice with different names. Keeps going on about energy, insulation, grants, surveys or checking up on work I supposedly had done (which I didn’t). There’s not much real info, but he’s pushy and gets impatient if you ask questions, trying to talk over me. Always ends the call when it’s clear he hasn’t a clue - claims to be the energy advisor for my area, yet can’t even say where that is. No idea what his game is, but he’s annoying and definitely not legit.

I've received calls from this number on two separate occasions, and it’s clearly a scam! The individual on the other end seemed utterly clueless when I tried to ask about timber-framed house insulation-genuine callers wouldn’t be so lost, would they? This is definitely a dodgy operation. The number, 01132057799, should be flagged and blocked for good as a scam-no doubt about it! Looking forward to an urgent response!
