Got a call from 2046640, first a lady claimed to be from my broadband provider saying my internet would cut out in 4 hours due to some issue. Then this guy with a foreign accent popped up saying my router had a fault and told me to go switch on my PC. I wasn’t having any of it and quickly ended the call - felt like a total scam. Later I rang Virgin myself and they confirmed it was a con. What annoys me most is I never share my home number and I’m already paying Virgin, so how did these fraudsters get it?
