Seriously, just block this number right away. I called it from my other pay-as-you-go phone to see what’s going on. Some sketchy bloke with a strong Leeds accent who sounded Asian picked up, saying he was from a debt recovery firm working for HMRC. This sort of scam should get the number blacklisted by Ofcom, but knowing how useless some of these government bods are, I’m not holding my breath. Total incompetence, as usual.
