At 11:53 a.m. today, I received a call from an unfamiliar number. After a moment of silence, I heard a man with an Asian accent on the other end of the line. He politely inquired about my well-being, to which I replied positively and asked him the purpose of his call. He mentioned having information regarding an accident. Sensing it was a bogus call, I dismissed him and promptly hung up.

I checked out the TPS site like I mentioned earlier, and there’s a number you can ring. If you’re looking to cut down on these sorts of calls, there's another service called Silent CallGard you can sign up for by calling 0844 3722325. I used 'we q4u' to call for free, so I’d recommend trying 0300 124 0037 instead of the 0844 one.

A few days back, I got a call from a bloke with a really thick Indian/Pakistani accent, calling himself ‘Peter’ (!?), claiming he was from an accident helpline and wanted to talk about an accident I supposedly had. I said, "If that’s true Peter, then what’s the date of this accident?" And he just hung up. Now I’ve had another call from this number today, and after reading these comments, it looks like Peter might be ringing again. Hopefully, he picks a better name next time, because ‘Peter’ didn’t fit him one bit. I’m signed up with TPS and will be reporting it to them.

Got a call about a car crash but we aint had any. those strange numbers on the caller ID aint real, they’re just made up by a computer on their side. it’s just to hide who they really are. fingers crossed the new laws kicking in this april in the UK will help clamp down on these calls.

I have been contacted by these individuals for the third occasion, despite clearly expressing my desire to have my number removed from their database. Furthermore, they went to the extent of sending me a text message on my mobile phone. Therefore, when they called me once again not long ago, I firmly conveyed to the gentleman of Asian descent on the phone that I want no further interaction with them. This persistent communication has reached its limit and I will tolerate no more of it.

Got a call from 01111111251 today, and it was exactly like what you lot described. After about 6 seconds of silence, a bloke said something like “hi I’m calling about an accident,” then silence again. Immediately I rang TalkTalk’s free last number service on 14258 to block them, so hopefully that’s the end of it. I’ve just signed up with GoDaddy for a few websites and gave them my number, not sure if it's connected. Anyone else having this problem?
