This number rings me like 10 times daily but never says a word. The other day, some bloke whispered my name all creepy-like and then just burst out laughing - feels like straight-up harassment! We keep getting bombarded with around 20-25 calls daily, then it suddenly stops for a day, only to kick off again. We’ve got caller ID and just let the calls go to answerphone, but as a business it’s bloody annoying having to keep checking all those missed calls. BT says there’s nothing they can do since it’s not a legit number, and the police don’t want to get involved unless someone actually picks up. Mornings are the worst, coming in to find nearly 20 missed calls that we have to review. Why on earth are they bothering us like this? It’s pretty worrying, to be honest.

They’re likely calling to persuade you to change your utilities, using some sort of autodialler that rings loads of numbers at once.
