I received a call from a chap who had what I could only describe as an American twang, claiming to be part of a PC Support team affiliated with the major internet service providers like BT, Sky, and TalkTalk. Considering I’m on the ex-directory list, I was quite taken aback and inquired, "How did you come across my number?" The response was rather cheeky, suggesting they were, in fact, support for my provider and querying why I was bothered about the source of my number. Naturally, I pressed on and asked, "So, what exactly is your purpose for calling?" At that point, the caller abruptly ended the conversation without a word, which really tells you everything you need to know!

I've been receiving persistent calls from this number on my private line, and every time I pick up, there's nothing on the other end. It's quite irritating! I really wish they would cease and desist, so others don't have to put up with this nuisance as well.

I received a similar call today and have had no issues with my computer. The caller inquired if I was with BT, which I'm not. When I informed him that I wasn’t, he abruptly replied with some choice words and hung up on me. Quite the charmer, wasn’t he?

I received a call from this number around 4:40 PM. An Indian gentleman claimed he was the chief technician for my internet provider. He mentioned that my signal was weak, which was allegedly causing problems with my computer. I informed him that I wasn't experiencing any issues at all, and abruptly, he cut the line! Quite odd, to say the least. I would advise against sharing any personal details or information with these individuals!

I got a call from this number around quarter past one on the 6th of October 2014. There was a woman on the line, sounding like she was from India, inquiring whether I owned a computer. I decided to play along and acted as if I couldn't understand a word of English before cutting the call. Quite ironic, really, as I'm Indian myself!

I utilise a messaging service that redirects calls to my landline if I'm not available. It seems these absolute muppets decided to dial my ex-directory number while I was out and about. I can't help but wonder which recent data breach has led to them acquiring my digits?!

In the space of a minute, our office received three calls from this rather peculiar number. The first one was cut short as soon as I explained that there was no fault to report. The second dragged on for ages-my colleague mistakenly believed it was a legitimate inquiry and tried to pass them to our IT department. The third call ended rather abruptly after I queried, "Could you tell me who supplies my broadband?" What’s particularly odd is that on our phone system, it showed up as 900919799999799. Quite the mystery!

I received a rather puzzling call the other day from a chap claiming to be with the Technical Services division of my internet provider. He insisted he could resolve the "lagging" issues I apparently have with my internet. However, he didn’t bother to provide his name or the name of the company he was representing. When I told him that I wasn’t experiencing any issues at all, he abruptly wrapped up the call. Lately, I've been in contact with various new firms, mainly online shops for computer components, which makes it frustratingly difficult to pinpoint which one might have shared my details.

I recently received a rather unpleasant phone call from this number. The gentleman on the line had quite a strong Indian accent and was exceedingly abrupt. When I inquired about his employer, he rattled off the name of a company, but I thought it best to hand the phone over to my husband, who doesn’t tolerate nonsense. He posed the same queries, and, surprisingly, the caller just hung up on him! I was wondering if there’s a method to prevent this number from getting through, especially since we're ex-directory?

Today, I got a call from this number - some bloke claiming to be from my internet provider's tech support. He said my computer had viruses and wanted me to switch it on. When I asked for his details and which company he was with, he used the name of my real broadband supplier. I said I wasn't comfortable with all this, and before I could ask anything more, he just hung up. Seems pretty dodgy if you ask me.

So this guy rang me today and, being a bit daft, I let him get into my computer remotely. When he then asked for payment to “fix” a virus, I said no thanks, I’m not interested. Now I’m worried cause he did have access and I’m not sure if he’s taken any of my info. I’ve already told the police and informed my bank about it. Since he claimed to be from Virgin Media (I’m actually with Virgin), I gave them a ring too. I feel proper stupid for falling for it, but it’s done now. Just a heads up to everyone - watch out for these scammers!

Just received a call a short while ago - honestly, lads, this isn't India or Puerto Rico we're dealing with; it's Nigeria, complete with a call centre's recorded spiel buzzing in the background. They seem to squander twice as much of your minutes as they do their own. Resorting to rudeness doesn't help anyone, so try to keep them on the line for as long as you can. Be civil and show a bit of intrigue at first, but like I did, after about 10 to 15 seconds, don't hesitate to label them as the dishonest crooks they truly are!

It’s quite puzzling, I just received a call from this number moments ago, but the caller abruptly ended the call. It struck me as odd, especially since my internet went down on Monday. I find this rather frustrating, to say the least. Given that I work from home and rely on my landline for business, it's quite irritating when the phone rings unexpectedly. I answer courteously, not realising who’s on the other end, only for the call to suddenly drop. I checked the number through 1471, and surprise, it turned out to be the same one as before. It's quite disheartening to see that so many are facing this similar issue with these pesky callers. It's a pity that the Telephone Preference Service we’ve signed up for isn’t able to filter out this unwelcome interference.

I picked up the phone, but lo and behold, there was no one there! I’ve taken to letting it ring for a bit longer these days. Honestly, it’s quite tiresome always being on edge whenever the phone goes off! The Telephone Preference Service doesn’t seem to have any impact on those pesky international calls. It feels like something ought to be done about this - surely, with all the tech we have, we could find a way to put a stop to these nuisance calls?

Today, I received a call from this number, 00919799999799, concerning the same matter again. It boggles my mind how they seem to evade any repercussions! It feels rather suspicious-could this be linked to some form of terrorism financing or other illicit activities? It's quite baffling how they continue to operate without facing any consequences. Is that code connected to Puerto Rico, or am I mistaken?

A man of Asian descent called me today at 11:18 [BST], and it was the usual spiel! He claimed there was a virus infection but was rather vague about its origins, merely referring to a "main server." He dodged my queries and solely focused on gaining access to my computer. I managed to keep him on the line for a bit, but in the end, he cut off the conversation. I’ve heard troubling tales of an elderly pair who fell victim to this ruse, leading them to incur expenses and subsequently find themselves locked out of their own computer, resulting in even greater costs!

Yesterday evening around 7 o'clock, an Asian gentleman rang us up, insisting that we should switch on our computer. Apparently, he claimed to have some information indicating that there was an issue with it that he could resolve. Clearly, it was nothing but a scam. Hello there! So, it appears we’ve found ourselves speaking with a Windows support team, or at least that’s what they claim. Every time you boot up your computer, they seem to be under the impression that they have a front-row seat to your activities. Curious, isn’t it? When I inquired about the make of my machine, they casually stated, “Oh, you’re on Windows.” But that’s hardly informative-is it a Toshiba, Packard Bell, Acer, or something else entirely? Their answer remained the same, insisting they could rectify it if only I turned on my computer (which, by the way, was already powered up!) due to the alleged presence of viruses. I told them I have an antivirus solution, to which they replied, “Well, it’s clearly not working, madam.” I decided to get in touch with my antivirus provider to see why it seems so ineffective. I can’t help but wonder: is anyone else receiving these calls, and do people actually believe them?

I had a rather dodgy phone call from a chap with an Asian accent who claimed my computer was riddled with viruses. He proceeded to dish out some rather sketchy advice on how to sort it out. He said he was working for Talktalk, which raised my suspicions. I promptly hung up and contacted Talktalk directly. They confirmed they are indeed aware of this outfit - it’s a scam through and through. Had I gone along with his instructions, they would have had the keys to my computer and all my personal information. Quite a frightful experience!

I had a rather concerning phone call on the 8th of August, 2014, from the number listed above. The caller, who had an accent suggestive of Asian descent, introduced himself as a computer safety supervisor from Birmingham. He claimed that my laptop was displaying some kind of alert on his monitor. When I inquired about how he obtained my contact details, he insisted that my computer was the source of the number. I earnestly implore anyone who can to intervene and put an end to this nefarious scam before any further unethical activities occur.

I received a rather peculiar phone call the other day. An Indian gentleman was on the other end, inquiring if my internet connection was functioning properly. Upon confirming that it was, to my astonishment, he shifted the conversation to a rather odd subject-he wanted to know if I was enjoying quiet evenings with my boyfriend. I felt a bit uneasy and mentioned that I wasn’t in a relationship, even though I am-thought it was wiser to deflect. He then lamented that it was a pity. To my surprise, he further probed whether I resided in India. At that point, I decided to hang up, feeling quite unsettled by the whole exchange! My partner, who works in IT, is going to thoroughly check my computer. It's been recently wiped and had its RAM swapped due to damage, so I doubt it’s compromised. Nonetheless, I'm quite anxious about how he seemed to know such personal details about my life.

Today, this number has tried to reach me on two occasions-firstly at six in the evening, then again at half past eight. Strangely enough, when I picked up the call, they simply disconnected!

I received a call from this number, and when I answered, there was silence on the other end. This isn't the first instance of such an occurrence.

The phone buzzed and when I answered, there was silence on the other end before they disconnected. (17th July 2014 at 8 in the evening)

I encountered some extremely rude remarks from someone who wasn't local when I mentioned that I didn't have access to the internet. Quite surprising!

In the last week, I've received a couple of calls from this number. The initial call claimed to be about fixing issues with my personal computer, but I decided to terminate the conversation and hang up. Today, however, I received another call (on the 17th of July), but it was simply silence on the other end-no one responded at all. When I called 1471 afterwards, it informed me that this number was indeed the caller.

Received a call from this number, but they just cut off without uttering a word. Quite odd, really.

This evening, I received a rather odd phone call inquiring about the state of my broadband and computer. The chap on the other end had quite a Dutch accent, which was a bit peculiar given the usual callers. I assured him everything was perfectly fine but couldn’t help but question his intentions, which led to me being rather sharp in my response. To my surprise, he swiftly ended the call. Curiously, I have McAfee via BT, and I had my PC scanned just this past weekend. Could there be some connection? Is it possible that my information is being traded?

They keep ringing, but the moment my wife picks up, they just hang up! It’s almost as if they're after the man of the house or something. How peculiar!

I encountered a rather unpleasant individual who, despite my polite reminders about the legality of my call, chose to be quite aggressive. I eventually had to tell them to take a hike!

About a week ago, I received a phone call from this number, where the caller insisted that I power up my computer so they could eliminate a virus. I wasn't having any of it, so I turned them down flat and filed a report with my internet service provider.

I had a rather unsettling encounter with someone who seemed intent on breaching my computer's security. However, to be honest, I couldn't quite grasp what he was on about-his ramblings made little sense to me. There was definitely something off about him.

Just yesterday, I received a rather dubious call from someone with an Indian accent, claiming my computer was infested with Trojans and numerous viruses. Being quite the tech-savvy individual, I decided to humour him. When he asked me to turn on my computer, I cheekily replied, "Which one do you mean?" After a bit of back and forth, I suggested he provide me with his remote access information, insisting it would all be duly noted while I sorted my computer out. There was an eerie silence, and then I cheekily asked him again for his details. Silence reigned once more! Finally, I hit him with, "Do you really think I’d let you rummage through my system, you absolute muppet?” I made it clear I’d be reporting both his call and number, at which point he hastily hung up. Honestly, it’s hard to believe anyone would fall for such nonsense, but I’m sure there are those who might. I’ve already notified my internet provider about this shenanigan!

I received a call from that very same number just yesterday - quite the coincidence, wouldn’t you say? My experience mirrored that of others who've reported similar interactions. I happened to be in the middle of conducting a scan on my system that flagged an issue I was addressing. Then, out of the blue, I get a ring from an Indian chap purporting to be from the Technical Support department of my ISP. I didn’t let him get a word in. I informed him that the call was about to be cut short, hung up, and swiftly blocked the number.

I've received calls from this number twice today. The first time was around midday, but I was a tad slow in answering and they left no voicemail. When I checked my missed calls, there it was. Just now, they tried to reach me again, but I let it buzz away. I then decided to search for the number online and discovered that others have had similar experiences. I certainly won’t be picking up next time - unless it's to firmly tell them to clear off!

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Talk Talk. Given our recent struggles with the internet, it appeared plausible. The caller attempted to inform my husband that he’d need to fork out £199. When my husband declined, the individual became quite abrupt and terminated the call. Consequently, I've been compelled to reach out to the bank and alter all of our passwords.

I’ve just received a rather dubious phone call from someone with a distinctly Indian accent, apparently working from a call centre. As soon as he opened his mouth, I could tell it was one of those pesky virus scams. I let him ramble on with his tiresome routine (it’s their time wasted, not mine!), allowing him to go through the whole rigmarole up until the installation part. At that point, I decided to switch from my usual 'clueless' persona to the witty, articulate Scouser I am. Let’s just say it turned into quite the amusing exchange, haha! I really wish I had recorded it; fingers crossed they ring me up again soon! I’ll be ready with my microphone! ^.^

Today, I got a call from this number, and it was pretty much the same old spiel as others have mentioned-something about my computer being chock-full of junk and viruses. So, I decided to ring up the customer service team at my broadband provider and flagged this number as a nuisance caller. They even provided me with a contact number and a PIN to help me deal with it. They shared some handy tips on blocking that number, and I highly recommend that others take similar action to protect themselves. Just out of curiosity, which broadband provider do you all use?

Got a call this evening from that number. When I inquired about the company he was representing and his location, his reply was downright shocking: "Listen here, you mother fu-er." I couldn't believe my ears and asked him to repeat himself, only for him to call me that vile name again before abruptly ending the call. Just a heads up, folks! Be cautious!

I received a rather suspicious call from this number earlier today. The person on the other end was insistent that they needed to remotely access my computer to reveal viruses that, apparently, my antivirus software had failed to spot. They claimed that their server had flagged a sluggish broadband connection due to a lurking virus, which they assured me they could rectify. When I pressed for the identity of the company behind this so-called benevolent offer, they refused to divulge any details. Eventually, I informed him that he was merely occupying my time and promptly hung up.

I've been receiving calls from this incessant number, always asking for a code to be input on my computer. Honestly, it's time to cut off this caller. My neighbours, who are rather elderly and don't even own a computer, are quite distressed as they’ve had similar experiences. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could take the initiative to block this troublesome number.

I'm quite keen to understand how these scammers manage to obtain our phone numbers. I’ve got a TalkTalk package for both internet and phone myself-what about everyone else? It does make you wonder whether our information is being mishandled or exploited in some way. Surely this screams a serious breach of data protection regulations!

Today, I received an absolutely daft call from some muppet threatening to smash my windows! The conversation soon veered into the muddled territory of some supposed broadband issue. I couldn't quite catch what he was on about, so I politely asked him to clarify, but would you believe it, he just abruptly hung up. What a joke!

Had a rather curious phone call from these chaps yesterday. They spoke with an Asian accent and claimed to be seeing virus alerts from my computer on their end! I kept pressing them about how they managed to obtain my home phone number, which seemed to ruffle their feathers-"that's not relevant, sir!" they insisted. Well, it certainly is to me, I retorted! I then mentioned that I’m in the IT sector, to which they stumbled and said, “Err...Ummm...Err,” before abruptly ending the call. Clearly, they need to refine their approach! Now that I’ve got their number, I plan to investigate their ISP and drop them a note of my own.

I had a rather unpleasant telephone encounter today with an Asian gentleman who introduced himself as "Joy." He kept blabbering on about how my computer was riddled with viruses, repeatedly asking how I was. I cut him off, stating he was fibbing since there's no way he could know that without actually seeing my PC. His response was quite shocking-telling me to shove off and making threats about coming over, as if I was going to just sit there and take it! Utterly ridiculous! Just another scam attempt from some fool.

Today, I received a rather peculiar call from this number. The chap on the line was probing me about my internet service. Naturally, I turned the tables and quizzed him about his business, which seemed to irk him quite a bit. Out of the blue, he asked if I would fancy dying. To which I cheekily replied affirmatively and asked how that would happen. He ominously declared it would be by him and a screw being driven into my head. He had a strong Asian accent and introduced himself as Charlie. Curiously, I almost inquired about the origins of his name, but he abruptly disconnected the call.

I received a call from a chap claiming to be with BT, insisting that my computer was infected with a virus. He urged me to visit www.teamviewer.com so they could access my machine remotely. I wasn’t going to risk it, so I promptly switched off my computer at the mains along with the router and the landline. Better safe than sorry, I say!

I noticed an unfamiliar number flash up on my caller ID, which immediately set off alarm bells - definitely had the ring of a sales pitch, I thought. When I picked up, the chap on the other end introduced himself as being from "Broadband technical assistance." He then courteously enquired about my wellbeing. I couldn’t resist responding in an overly jovial tone, “I’m splendid, how about yourself?” To my amusement, he came right back with “I’m good too, and how are you?” I replied, “Absolutely fantastic, and you?” “Likewise, I’m very well, sir!” This back and forth continued for a solid minute, with my wife nearly in tears from laughter, until he finally decided to hang up. It seems he was on the hunt for a giggle while well-ing addictive people!

I received a call from these muppets claiming to be my phone and internet provider. I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all! When he insisted it was a serious situation concerning my broadband, I just kept laughing. Eventually, I told him I worked for an organisation that deals exclusively with scammers and that I could actually see his information. I pretended I was looking at him through the webcam on his laptop. You should have seen the look on his face - he was none too pleased, especially when I remarked that his microphone was so outdated it could belong to my grandmother! In truth, I couldn’t see a thing, but he was completely taken in by my little ruse. Turns out these scammers are quite the amateur hour. For those who aren't aware, do be cautious of this number; they’re definitely up to no good!

Earlier this afternoon at around 3pm, I received a call from this number. An Asian gentleman was on the line, trying to convince me that my broadband had contracted a virus, which apparently was the reason for its sluggishness! When I probed further about his employer, he dropped names like Sky, BT, and Virgin among others. However, when I pressed him to confirm who the account holder was, he fumbled and said, “I think it's in a lady's name.” I made it crystal clear that if he truly represented any of those companies, he would have all the accurate information at his fingertips, rather than relying on vague guesses. He seemed to lose his confidence, became flustered, and promptly terminated the call! Everyone, do stay vigilant!

I received a rather dubious call from this number earlier today. The chap on the line claimed to be from my internet service provider, asserting that they had detected some sort of issue between my broadband and my computer. I found this all a bit suspect, so I probed further, asking for his name and the company he was representing. Remarkably, he responded that he would ring me back. Not feeling quite right about it, I decided to reach out to my actual broadband provider, who confirmed that they'd never initiate contact like that and that it definitely reeked of a scam.

I can relate to your experience with this number. I too fell victim to a similar situation, where they claimed to have set up 'Cube Support', 'CCleaner', and 'Comodo anti-virus' on my machine, and supposedly, there were icons popping up on my desktop. I'm quite worried about how to remove those applications. Is it possible they've already compromised my system? As a retired individual and fairly new to all this tech stuff, I’m feeling a bit lost. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! I started to have doubts when I mentioned I would be paying by cheque, yet they persistently pushed me to go directly to my bank to wire funds into their account.

Today, my partner received a rather dodgy call from +00919799999799. Thankfully, she's quite sharp and not one to fall for scams. The caller claimed to be looking for the owner of 'the computer'. When she probed for more details, they just parroted the same request. Then, they requested her name and address, to which she countered with a demand for their information. Predictably, they promptly ended the call.

I received a call from this number at half eleven, but when I answered, there was no one there. I've discovered that when these mysterious calls come through, it’s most effective to inquire about their company name, the individual’s name, and a number I can use to return the call. Whenever they request my name, I usually respond with, 'Surely you must have that information since you’re the one who rang me, why don’t you share it?' This tactic tends to discourage most unidentified callers!

I had a call from this number earlier today. We've been facing quite a few issues with our SKY internet recently, so I initially presumed it might be Sky calling. The bloke on the other end asked if the broadband account was in my name, to which I replied that it was under my husband's name but he wasn’t around at the moment. I mentioned I'd grab my son, seeing as he's quite the whiz with tech, but before I could even finish my thought, he cut the line. I did a 1471 and found these warnings, so I really appreciate the heads-up!

I received a rather dubious phone call earlier today from some bloke claiming to be from my internet provider. When I asked him which provider he represented, he promptly ended the call. It's quite apparent they’re up to no good, possibly trying to infect computers with malware to pilfer bank information. I really wish we could track down their address and report them to the authorities, including the police and immigration, to put a stop to these scoundrels.
