I guess the person didn't listen when the message said it was an answerphone. It clearly states that it's an answering machine, but noooo, they go on like, "Hello? Can you hear me? Hello, are you there?" like seriously?

Got a call from an unknown number on my home phone, completely out of the blue.

Got these annoying calls all the time, usually silence or someone just hanging up. Sometimes it’s someone who tells lies on the line. I really wish there was a way to block these calls for good because one day, while I’m busy picking up, one of my five kids might get into trouble, and that would be heartbreaking.

There was quiet for a bit and then they just ended the call.

Got a call at 5:58pm from a number that’s ex-directory and signed up to the TPS, but thanks to the TRUECALL system, it was flagged.

On 30/08/14 at 17:58, a 7-second call came through from 00919089130993, an overseas number from India. It was a typical international ring with Shield & Whisper, then the caller dropped out while I was still checking it.

Number has now been blocked on my ZAP list.

Also reported the incident to both TPS and Ofcom for good measure.

Got a call from some bloke saying his name was Mark and he was calling from Glasgow - yeah right, as if! We’ve got caller ID, so no chance of fooling me. He wanted to speak to someone who moved out over 11 years ago! I told him forget it, then he asked if I wanted cheaper electricity. So, I asked him if he believed in Jesus and if he’d been saved. Told him I wanted to chat about it - and guess what? Mark dropped the call immediately. Classic.

Back in July 2014, I got a call from a number that went silent at first. Then, an Indian accent guy came on and got my name wrong. He asked if I was with Southern Electric, I said yes. Then he wanted to know if I paid my bill by direct debit. I said no. After that, he started asking for more personal details. I told him I wasn't comfortable sharing info over the phone and just hung up.

I’ve been getting loads of calls from this number, like three or four times daily, and no one ever answers when I pick up. It’s really starting to annoy me.

Got a call from this number around 6:15 in the evening today. Didn’t pick up, no voicemail left. Pretty sure it’s a scam. Reporting them to TPS, although it probably won’t do much.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent claiming my internet had issues. When I asked how he even figured that out, he just dodged the question and kept insisting I sit at my PC and press certain buttons. I was onto this sort of scam beforehand. Though I’m off the public records, I decided to humour him and run the clock down. Just a heads up to be careful with these calls...

I bought smokes from a website, then this number rang me up asking if I was the person who placed the order. But I never got my cigarettes, and when I emailed the shop about it, they never replied. I called the number again and some voice started speaking in other languages saying I’d got the wrong number. Can anyone give me a hand with this?

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent asking to speak to the person who handles the bills. I said they weren't available, and then they just hung up on me.
