I picked up and could hear the typical buzz of a call centre, yet not a single word was said. The number started with 0091, which I know is the code for India. I ended the call, then dialled 1471 to check the last caller’s number, but the line was busy. From what I’ve heard, this might mean they can keep your line open even after you’ve hung up, so if you try to call someone else for help, you could still be connected to the scammers. Bit scary if you ask me.

Yet another pesky cold caller! I picked up the phone and greeted them, but silence ensued. Quite frustrating, especially as I was waiting for a crucial call.

On 5th Dec 2016 around 11:05am, I got a call from someone saying he was with Microsoft. He told me there was an issue with my PC and asked me to turn it on and follow some steps. I didn’t fall for it, as I figured it was probably a con. Later, I rang 1471 and managed to get the number he called from - it showed as 009190162091 at 11:05. After a quick search for Microsoft and that number, I saw lots of other people had reported similar calls.

Had the misfortune of receiving a call at the crack of dawn, jolting me from my slumber. They should consider themselves fortunate I chose not to pick up. I really ought to invest in a landline that has the capability to block pesky numbers.

I rang up this morning at half past eight regarding a problem with my computer. The person on the other end started getting rather aggressive, and after a bit of back-and-forth, they abruptly ended the call. However, they soon rang me again, only to unleash even more hostility. Quite an unpleasant experience, I must say!

I left it unanswered since the number seemed unfamiliar and a bit sketchy. I only managed to jot down the digits while it was still ringing. Oddly enough, as soon as the call ended, the number vanished from my missed calls log! Feels fishy, especially after reading what others have shared.

I got a call from someone saying his name was Andy, coming from this number, but when I asked for his direct contact he gave me another phone number. He told me he was with Microsoft and claimed hackers were attempting to access my PC. When I requested my IP address, he provided an incorrect one, even though he somehow knew where I lived. Sounds to me like he was trying to scam or break into my computer.

I got a call from someone claiming that my computer was being hacked. I asked him a few questions to catch him out, but he suddenly went quiet when he couldn’t come up with answers. Then, out of nowhere, he just ended the call. Total scammer for sure!

I got a call from this person claiming they were with BT. They wanted access to my computer, but when I called them out on it, they started being really nasty. Definitely fake and very rude once they knew I wasn’t falling for it.
