They’ve tried ringing me a couple times but hang up after only two rings each time. Honestly, do they really reckon anyone’s daft enough to call them back? Not on my watch, but I suppose there might be some people silly enough to fall for it.

I've had calls from this number a couple of times this week while I was at home, maybe even more than twice. Every time, the person claimed to be from BT. The first time, they said there was some dodgy activity happening through my internet, and the next time they said there was a fault with my router. I always told them I was sure they weren’t really from BT and then they just hung up straight away.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying my internet was at risk and she needed my router info. I told her to put it all in an email and said I was turning off my WiFi before cutting the call. I reckon a lot of people might get scared by this kind of thing.

They rang me earlier when I wasn’t home and didn’t leave any message. Then they tried again when I was in, but since they didn’t bother leaving a message the first time, I didn’t pick up the call from this number. Unsurprisingly, once again, no message was left. This is how it’s gonna be from now on. And calling them back? Absolutely not happening!

So my brother got a call yesterday but I ended up picking it up the second go. The person said they were from BT and told me to turn on my computer and press the Windows key plus the letter R together. I played along for a bit. When they asked what I saw on the screen I said there was nothing there. Then I told them I was busy cooking something and I’d ring BT back when I wasn't so tied up.

I keep receving loads of calls every day, some days it's just silence when I answer. Other times there's someone speaking with quite a strong Asian accent claiming to be from BT saying there's an issue with my PC. If you've recently got in touch with BT, watch out for these calls. After I've dealt with BT's customer service, these suspicious calls often start up. Makes me wonder if there's some sort of security leak or if some current or former BT staff abroad might be involved.

This number kept ringing me loads yesterday, sounded like they had a thick accent. I kept telling them the account owner wasn’t in. Then today, they called me 5 times despite me asking them to stop. They said they were from BT and wanted to test my line. On the final call, they just cut me off. There was a bloke and a woman calling me at different times.

They keep ringing me multiple times every single day. Sometimes no one answers, other times they claim to be from BT saying there’s an issue with my computer - usually they’ve got a strong Asian accent. One time, I overheard a person in the back telling the caller to ask me for my password! I don’t respond to any of it. Honestly, I think folks should keep a record of these calls and report them to the ICO. Feels like it might be old BT staff pulling this scam.

Had a call today from a woman speaking with an Indian accent saying my broadband with BT was involved in some illegal use and asked about my gadgets. I replied I don’t even have broadband and she hung up straight away! I checked my missed calls using 1471 and the number showed as 0090766982.

Got two calls over the past couple days, one on 3/10 and another on 4/10, both claiming something about my account. Told the first caller off, but the second one was a bit sneakier - still hung up though, maybe because I sounded fed up. They knew who my provider was, which is a bit spooky. And yeah, the voice sounded Indian. Proper dodgy.

I just got a call from someone with a really strong Asian accent, and there was this weird clicking sound before they started talking. They claimed to be from BT and asked who I was. If it was really BT, wouldn't they ask for the account owner by their actual name - like mine? I had a bad feeling right away, so I just said “no thanks” nicely and hung up. Got a phone call today from this number, and they said they were from TalkTalk. They even had my account number, which was a bit worrying at first. But they started saying all the typical stuff I’ve heard from those fake “windows tech support” scammers before, so I realised it was just another con job. I’ve passed the details on to TalkTalk to let them know.

so just got a call from a woman named leisha saying she was from 81 newgate street london, sounded like a strong indian accent. she kept saying someone was using my internet without permission. i asked her to prove she worked for bt and to give me my account number, but she went quiet and ended the call when i joked maybe she was the one using my internet!

On 28/09/2016 around 9:15am, I got a call from this number. The person said they were from BT and told me there had been some 'access' attempts on my broadband. I tried to ask a question to check if it was legit, but then he just ended the call. Just a warning to be careful!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Teresa at BT, saying there was a security risk because someone was using my internet through my computer. This was the third time this week I’d had a call like this. I told her somebody had already contacted me about it (didn’t say that I’d simply hung up on previous calls). I then asked if the issue was still ongoing, and after that, she just ended the call straight away. Sounds a bit dodgy to me.
