They’ve tried ringing me a couple times but hang up after only two rings each time. Honestly, do they really reckon anyone’s daft enough to call them back? Not on my watch, but I suppose there might be some people silly enough to fall for it.

I've had calls from this number a couple of times this week while I was at home, maybe even more than twice. Every time, the person claimed to be from BT. The first time, they said there was some dodgy activity happening through my internet, and the next time they said there was a fault with my router. I always told them I was sure they weren’t really from BT and then they just hung up straight away.

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying my internet was at risk and she needed my router info. I told her to put it all in an email and said I was turning off my WiFi before cutting the call. I reckon a lot of people might get scared by this kind of thing.

They rang me earlier when I wasn’t home and didn’t leave any message. Then they tried again when I was in, but since they didn’t bother leaving a message the first time, I didn’t pick up the call from this number. Unsurprisingly, once again, no message was left. This is how it’s gonna be from now on. And calling them back? Absolutely not happening!

I received a call yesterday aimed at my brother, but by chance, I picked up the phone on their second attempt. They claimed to be from BT and insisted that I power up my computer and hit the Windows key alongside the 'R' key. I decided to humour them for a bit. When they enquired about what appeared on my screen, I cheekily replied that there was nothing there at all. After a short while, I mentioned I had something cooking and promised to ring BT back when I had a spare moment.

I’m being inundated with calls several times each day. More often than not, when I answer, there’s silence or I’m greeted by someone with a thick Asian accent claiming to be from BT, insisting there’s an issue with my computer. If you’ve recently reached out to BT, I’d advise you to be particularly vigilant! Every time I’ve had to engage with their customer support, it seems to trigger a wave of these irritating calls. I can’t help but wonder if there’s been a security breach or if there’s something a bit dodgy going on with some former (or possibly even current) BT employees based overseas.

This number kept ringing me loads yesterday, sounded like they had a thick accent. I kept telling them the account owner wasn’t in. Then today, they called me 5 times despite me asking them to stop. They said they were from BT and wanted to test my line. On the final call, they just cut me off. There was a bloke and a woman calling me at different times.

Sometimes no one answers, other times they claim to be from BT saying there’s an issue with my computer - usually they’ve got a strong Asian accent. One time, I overheard a person in the back telling the caller to ask me for my password! I don’t respond to any of it. Honestly, I think folks should keep a record of these calls and report them to the ICO. Feels like it might be old BT staff pulling this scam.

Got two calls over the past couple days, one on 3/10 and another on 4/10, both claiming something about my account. Told the first caller off, but the second one was a bit sneakier - still hung up though, maybe because I sounded fed up. They knew who my provider was, which is a bit spooky. And yeah, the voice sounded Indian. Proper dodgy.

Got a phone call today from this number, and they said they were from TalkTalk. They even had my account number, which was a bit worrying at first. But they started saying all the typical stuff I’ve heard from those fake “windows tech support” scammers before, so I realised it was just another con job. I’ve passed the details on to TalkTalk to let them know.

so just got a call from a woman named leisha saying she was from 81 newgate street london, sounded like a strong indian accent. she kept saying someone was using my internet without permission. i asked her to prove she worked for bt and to give me my account number, but she went quiet and ended the call when i joked maybe she was the one using my internet!

Got a call from someone claiming to be Teresa at BT, saying there was a security risk because someone was using my internet through my computer. This was the third time this week I’d had a call like this. I told her somebody had already contacted me about it (didn’t say that I’d simply hung up on previous calls). I then asked if the issue was still ongoing, and after that, she just ended the call straight away. Sounds a bit dodgy to me.
