Some bloke called me and his English was awful, he kept going on about lowering prices or something. I told him straight up I wasn’t interested in whatever he was selling and ended the call. Then he had the nerve to ring me back four times! Proper annoying and definitely felt like a scam.

Joining the TPS doesn’t seem to stop these calls one bit. I’ve reported them but it honestly feels pointless. Watch out folks, it’s definitely a scam, they jump from talking about PCs to offering bitcoins. Their accent was so hard to catch, barely understood a thing. They hung up on me like four times, then as soon as I ended the call, they phoned right back.

On 8th August 2017 at about half past four in the afternoon, I got a call from a number showing Hong Kong. I didn’t get any caller ID, and my BT call guardian picked it up but dropped it after the first ring. I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Around 10pm on 23/5/2017 I got a call from a bloke with what sounded like an Indian accent. He claimed my computer was in serious trouble and said he was from Netsoft Technology Ltd, supposedly working for Microsoft - which I later found out doesn’t even exist. Sadly, I let him into my PC, but the very next day a mate warned me it was a scam. Do not pick up if this number rings you. I had to ring up my bank and update my email password after that. Total scam, be careful!

This number normally rings just after dinner time, probably to check someone’s home before the barrage of calls start. Then you get loads of firms from India asking survey questions to collect some info, which then gets handed off to other call centres. After that, the calls don’t stop for weeks - mostly about extended warranties for your old TV or car or those dreadful PPI offers. I’ve spent weeks asking each caller to give me the company’s main office address (Nottingham Consumer Surveys) or to put me through to a manager, but they just end up hanging up. Tonight, one guy finally said he’d take me off their list but mentioned there are several call centres involved, so I’m not sure how to make it stop completely. I’ve signed up with the TPS, which has knocked out calls about double glazing and debt management, but it doesn’t seem to block overseas firms. Looks like I might have to get a new phone number in the end. Hopefully, this info’s useful to someone.
