This wangiri scam is proper nasty. Have a look at the posts below, especially the one from 12th Jan - it explains how you can actually do something if you want to stop these muppets. The cops won’t lift a finger unless they get swamped with complaints about a certain number or scam. Watch out when blocking numbers too, some phone companies limit how many you can block and then it stops working properly. The scammers love that! They hate it when people report their calls and messages to the police.

Wangiri fraud alert!!! This is a big organised crime scam. If you rang the number back, have a look at your phone bill because you might have been fleeced. The police are after info on these calls and how widespread the scam is. Use the 'action fraud' link you’ll find on this site (above the map). Click the 'reporting' button and file it as a wangiri scam under ‘phishing attempt’. You don’t need to give any personal info and it’s quicker than posting here. If you phoned back, you’ve been scammed and it’s vital to report it as a criminal offence.

Total scam alert. They ring you late at night when you’re barely awake, then if you miss it and ring back worried it’s urgent, they put you straight through to a premium service. Every scam call, text, or email needs to be reported to 'Action Fraud'. The cops will step in if they get enough complaints about a particular con. Also make sure to share dodgy numbers on this website to help others stay safe.
