I received a dodgy call from someone claiming to be from BT, stating that my landline was at risk of being cut off for three months due to some "unauthorised access" by individuals allegedly operating out of Manchester. The caller was quite pushy, urging me to hop online to sort out some sort of security measures-my gut feeling was that they were angling for me to inadvertently download something malicious. I decided to play along and told them I had no access to a computer at the moment, and just like that, they terminated the call. Quite the con, if you ask me!

Got a call from +007145, bloke said he was with BT but it was obvious he wasn’t. Don’t be fooled by these, they’re scammers through and through. Easy enough to tell if you’re paying attention.

Did the bloke go on a rant about our BT internet needing to be switched off cause other folks were supposedly using it. After he finished his spiel, my husband said, "We don't have BT." The guy just hung up right away... Total scam, no doubt about it!

Got a call from someone saying he was Alan Johnson from BT with a thick Indiana accent. Said my internet'd been hacked and he needed access to my PC to sort it out. Pretended I was starting up me computer and left him waiting about 15 minutes. After that, he just hung up on me.

I answered and there was nothing on the other end, just silence. Nobody I know ever rings my landline so I reckon it’s just another scam like people have mentioned. If someone contacts you pretending to be from BT and warns you about being hacked, mess with them for a good 20 minutes before having a rant at them. Honestly, it’s pretty satisfying and not a bad way to waste their time. Would suggest giving it a go!

Got a call a minute ago and kept asking if I was speaking to "Daniel" haha, but it was actually a woman on the line trying to get info about my bt account. She kept telling me to switch on my computer and that she could sort out any problems for me. When I asked her what name she had on file, it wasn’t even my real bt account name. I just ended up hanging up.

I said I couldn’t get to my laptop at the moment, but then he started getting rude and pushy, so I just ended the call.

Got a call from some bloke called Sam, said he was with BT. Thing is, he phoned me from no fewer than half a dozen different numbers! You’d think with BT’s call centres all back in the UK now, they’d have their act together. I asked him to tell me who BT’s CEO is, and he couldn’t answer. Then he just told me to bugger off and hung up on me. Definitely adding him to my blocked list!

Today I got a call from 007145 and honestly I just had to not pick up, sick of these foreign numbers ringing me all the time. I don’t trust anyone these days, so if someone really needs to reach me, they’ll have to leave a message on my answerphone. I’m just fed up with the constant ringing. Also, I did check the number with 1471.

I got a call from a bloke speaking with a thick Indian accent saying he was from BT Tech Support. He told me my internet or router had some issues. I’d already received calls from a different number before (something like 0011 029 7145) - this was at least the third call in about three days. I decided to ring BT’s official support line, and they told me nobody from their team had tried to contact me and everything was working fine. Looks like a scam to me, probably trying to get access to my PC by pretending to sort out my broadband.

A bloke with a strong Indian accent phoned me, saying he was from BT Technical. He told me there was an issue with my broadband or router. He'd already tried calling from another number (0011 029 7145); this was about the third time in three days he'd rang. I decided to call BT Technical Support myself, and they told me no-one from BT had been in touch recently and there was no fault with my connection. Seems like a scam to me, probably trying to gain access to my computer pretending to sort out the broadband problems.

Got a call earlier from a lady with an Indian accent who said she was from BT. She warned me my internet would be cut off for three months unless I sat at a computer then and there to 'secure' my connection. I told her, "No thanks, you’re not really from BT." She insisted, “Yes I am, didn’t I just say that?” and kept telling me I’d lose internet unless they fixed it for me right away. I said I'd just sort it out on BT’s official site, and then she suddenly ended the call. Classic scam attempt if you ask me.
