Phone number ☎️ 0071442345678 👆 is reported as a persistent scam where callers falsely claim to represent BT, warning of internet security issues and urging recipients to download harmful apps. These calls often feature vague or no clear speech, background noise mimicking call centres, and attempts to provoke fear or confusion, especially targeting the elderly. Callers cannot verify personal account details and typically hang up when questioned. The suggested apps are malicious, potentially compromising personal data and devices. The scammers frequently recontact recipients, disregarding requests to stop, and may use intimidating or misleading tactics. Genuine BT representatives do not cold call customers with such requests. It is strongly advised to ignore these calls, avoid downloading any suggested apps, and never share personal or account information.

9 yearsI had an intriguing phone call at 1:50 PM on the 5th of September, 2017, from the number 0071442345678. The caller purported to be from BT and started off with a rather cheery inquiry about my day. I promptly quipped back, “So, you’re supposedly from BT, and you want to know how my day’s going?” At that point, the individual on the other end abruptly ended the call without uttering another word. Cheers, Keith - EastbourneBTKeithEastbourne9 yearsI could barely make out any proper conversation, just some muffled sounds lurking in the backdrop.9 yearsBeware of these con artists! They purport to be from BT, claiming that your internet is compromised and that they can remedy the situation if you download a certain application from them. I can’t stress enough - do not fall for this ruse! Downloading their app will most likely infect your device with a virus, siphoning off your personal information and potentially rendering your laptop or phone inoperable. If you ask them for your BT account information, they'll abruptly end the call; it's clear they don't actually represent BT and can't access your details. It's fundamental to understand that genuine BT representatives will never reach out to you, asking you to install an app. These scammers will persistently bombard you with calls, particularly if they suspect you're elderly or uncertain. They hope to intimidate or manipulate you into compliance, increasing their efforts until you might feel overwhelmed and just want some peace. Please, don't be naive or succumb to their tactics-you’ll undoubtedly regret it if your financial information gets snatched or your device ends up kaput. They’ll likely circle back with an apology, claiming you missed the chance to sort your issue, yet conveniently reminding you that they can still 'assist' for a fee. The catch? They’re the ones who initiated the trouble in the first place! Stay vigilant and protect yourself.BT9 yearsSaw the comments here while my phone was still ringing, so decided to just not pick up.9 yearsSomebody called, said my internet was down and told me to switch on my laptop.
