I use BT Call Guardian so people have to say who they are before I pick up. As expected, they never did, so I just didn’t answer. My number’s been ex-directory for ages and I've signed up with the TPS too. After seeing what others said here, I’ve gone ahead and blocked that number.

Got a scam caller, mate. Best keep your details to yourself.

They said they were going to give me £202 back from Sky. They even knew my name and where I live. Then they asked for my date of birth but I didn’t give it to them and told them to just post me a cheque. We’ve never even had Sky, so I was certain it was a scam.

Straight away I knew it was a scam call just from her voice and the strange number. I decided to have a bit of fun, dragged the convo out loads, made her wish me happy new year AND merry Christmas, gave her some bogus bank details, and told her I usually give numbers backwards. Proper confused her! Also told her the account was tied to dodgy stuff and said there’s millions in there. Kept asking her how much she planned on scamming off me. Went on for almost half an hour, felt good wasting her time so she couldn’t rip anyone else off. Had a good laugh, made my work break more fun :)

While staying at my elderly mother's place, I received a phone call from a man with a Nigerian/African accent. He asked for the name and address associated with the phone number he had dialed, to which I unknowingly provided. He then claimed to be from Sky and informed me that they wanted to refund my mother £202. However, he needed me to confirm her date of birth. Feeling suspicious, I pointed out that if he truly was from Sky, he would already have the necessary information to process the refund. Realizing the potential scam, I abruptly ended the call by stating my suspicions and hanging up.

I got two calls on my landline today, even though I'm on the TPS register. The first bloke said his name was "Jordan" and claimed it was about my life insurance. I told him I don’t have any, and he just hung up. A bit later, another call came from "6752984632". This one was a guy called "Moses" saying I was owed £202 from Sky. I don’t even have Sky. What was weird is he knew my first initial and surname, then in quite broken English (maybe Indian accent?) he read out my full address and postcode. He then asked for my DOB, I didn’t give it and he ended the call.

So this 'Online global services' lot, they grab your details if you’ve got a domain registered. You can check your site on 'whois-lookup' and see what they got. They’re basically trying to piece together everything about you. Best to waste their time a bit or just hang up, and try not to say ‘Yes’ - apparently, they might use that to fake being you. One guy even chuckled and went, “we’ll keep ringing till we get your bank info” - proper dodgy!

Someone rang saying they were from SKY and told me I was due over £200 back. They asked for my address, which I gave, but when they wanted my date of birth I made one up. She still said it was right and then tried to get my card info to "send the refund". I told her I knew it was a con and the call just cut off!

Total scammer alert. They claimed to be from "Global Payments" and already had my name, which seems odd. Then they asked which bank I use, so I said, "Why do you need to know?" Dude misheard and said, "Natwest, right? Now can you give me the last 4 digits of your account?" I repeated, "What for?" He said, "I need it to verify your account." I was like, "Verify what? Why are you ringing me anyway?" And then they just cut me off.

Wouldnt stop ringing me every day wanting to know my bank name. Had a spare moment recently and told them some hedge fund instead of my real bank. Then they asked for the last 4 digits on my bank card, so I just gave them the numbers from my recent lottery ticket. Fingers crossed they leave me alone now for a bit.

This number keeps ringing me, saying they’re from Global Payment Services. They must’ve got my info from my 123-reg domain sign up or something. Got a call from someone claiming to do a Global Payments Survey UK, asking for my bank details. Feels like they probably got my info from some site registrar like GoDaddy or some old survey I did ages back. Honestly, best thing is to just hang up - no idea who they really are or why they want that info. Looks like they might be trying to put together a whole picture of you, maybe even calling your bank pretending to be you later on. Stay safe, everyone x

I received a phone call at 10:00 am informing me that I am eligible for a refund of £202.00 from Sky. The caller asked me to verify my date of birth. However, she had a noticeable Spanish accent. Despite her repeated attempts to extract my date of birth confirmation, she eventually ended the call abruptly. It's important to note that I do not have a subscription with Sky.

Got a call today from a woman with a nice Asian accent, claiming to be from "Sky Refund" asking for my bank details so they could send me £202. Earlier, someone with a friendly Asian male voice phoned from a different number, same story, same amount, same trick. I just received a phone call from someone pretending to represent Sky, saying that they wanted to refund me £202. They asked for all of my bank details, and since we have been having issues with our Sky recently, I unfortunately fell for it. When I realized what was happening, I immediately contacted Sky to verify the situation and they confirmed that I wasn't entitled to any refund. I then had to call my bank and cancel my card as a precautionary measure. It's incredibly frustrating to go through this, especially because we recently experienced a hacking incident. I feel so foolish for falling for their scam.

Some bloke said his name was Matthew (yeah, right) claiming to be from Sky with a £202 refund! Like I’d actually fall for that (nah). I told him straight up it’s a scam, but he kept going on about it being legit, so I told him to post me a cheque then! Ended up calling me a f#####g b###h and hanging up! A caller claiming to be from Sky contacted me yesterday at 12:20 pm, stating that I am entitled to a £202 refund. They asked for my date of birth, to which I replied that I couldn't provide that information. The caller promptly hung up. The same person called again today around 12:55 pm, asking if my name was correct. If they call once more, I decided that I will give them a false birth date of 1907 and act a bit confused, pretending to be an elderly person with hearing difficulties. I am curious to see how they will react to this response.

My 78 year old mum got a ring from someone claiming to be from the 'Sky Refund Department', saying she was owed some money back. They asked for her name and date of birth first, which she gave, but when they tried to get her bank details, she refused. Then a so-called 'supervisor' came on asking the same questions, and that’s when she told them to jog on and hung up. I’ve had calls from this number over the last couple of days claiming to be from Sky’s refund team. They asked me to verify my address and then wanted my date of birth. The woman on the phone sounded foreign and said I’d get a confirmation within 48 hours about the refund. I refused to give my DOB and told her it all seemed dodgy and to stop calling before ending the call. But she just kept going on and on. There really oughta be something done to stop these calls. I wonder how many folks fall for it.

I had an unusual call from a woman who said she was representing Sky, insisting that I was entitled to a £202 refund. To my surprise, she had my name and address, even after I pointed out that the details were incorrect. Not wanting to share anything further, I firmly stated that I’ve never been a Sky customer and promptly ended the conversation. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Again, got a call from a woman with a foreign accent saying she was from SKY, offering some weird £202 refund for overpayments (why always that odd figure?). She did know my name and address, even though I told her that address wasn’t mine. I kept asking her to say everything again, hoping she’d just give up, but eventually got fed up and told her I didn’t have SKY before ending the call.

I receive calls from this particular number on a daily basis, and at times, multiple times throughout the day. It's incredibly frustrating and getting on my nerves. Despite my attempts to communicate my discontent, they persistently continue to call. This situation is really getting to me.

Got two calls today saying I’m due a £202 refund. First time I blurted out “I don’t have Sky TV” a bit too quick. Second time was fishier, same amount, and the woman asked for my DoB, so I asked them to confirm my name first - they totally messed up my last name. Fingers crossed I get another shot to drag it out and waste their time!

I received two phone calls in one day from this particular number. In both instances, the callers claimed to be contacting me on behalf of Sky and promised to offer a 'refund'. However, they asked for my date of birth, which raised suspicions. When I inquired about their location, they evaded the question and abruptly ended the call. The second caller was exactly the same - I decided to put them on hold and simply left the phone until they eventually hung up. It's quite evident that these calls were part of a scam, as both individuals had strong accents reflecting an origin from the Indian sub-continent.

I receive calls from this number pretending to be from Sky, which is a clear case of fraudulence. This unethical activity invades my privacy and violates trust.

I just received a phone call from someone who claimed to be from Sky, informing me that I was entitled to a refund of £212. However, I promptly informed them that I do not have a Sky subscription and advised them to keep their fraudulent scheme to themselves. Then, I ended the call.

I played along with this seriously unwell lady, givin her made up details cos I knew exactly what she was doin - had a bit of a natter and pretended to be daft, thinkin they gotta be shelling out for calls abroad. After a few big yawn moments, I asked her how she managed to get any sleep at night, takin advantage of old and vulnerable people - and if she really thought I was daft - just nasty - twisted - and a proper lowlife.

Got two calls from these lot today - total scam, watch out! They said it was a SKY refund for extra payments but were trying to get my personal details. I've gone ahead and blocked the whole Papua New Guinea area code on my CPR Call blocker now - not letting them bother me anymore.

A caller claiming to be from Sky informed me that I was entitled to a refund. Surprisingly, they even knew my address and mentioned the name of my stepson, who actually moved out more than fourteen years ago!

I picked up the phone when it rang, but there was silence on the other end. I decided to end the call, and then I dialed 1471 to find out the identity of the caller.

Got a call from this number earlier. At first, there was silence when I answered, then a woman with a strange accent said she wanted to give me a refund of £202 and asked for my birth date to sort it out. I told her she was trying to scam me and that I’d report her to the police, then she just ended the call. I think this number has called me before.

I recently encountered a fraudulent scheme involving Sky, where scammers had obtained my personal information but repeatedly requested my date of birth.

I received a call today at precisely 12:08 from someone claiming to be from Sky, attempting to tell me about a supposed £260 rebate. This number seems to ring me incessantly! When I confronted the woman about it being a scam, she promptly hung up. They've called me previously, purporting to be BT. In fact, they nearly conned me out of £200, but thankfully my bank managed to halt the cheque in time. And just a heads up for those using PayPal-this is definitely a dodgy operation! Stay safe, everyone!

Got a call this morning about some Sky refund deal. Let her go on for a while then cut in with, "Can I ask you one thing?" She said yes. I asked, "Do you really think I’m daft?" Told her straight up she was a crook and that I’d try to find out where she was. Before she ended the call, I made sure she knew I’d never been with Sky. Honestly, these scammers should be tracked down no matter where they hide.

The individual on the other end of the line appeared to have an Australian accent. She claimed to be representing Sky, but I promptly ended the call. Since I am not a customer of Sky, I assumed it was an attempt at a fraudulent scheme.

I recently received a phone call from an Asian woman who claimed her name was Scarlet. She informed me that she had my address and postcode. According to her, I was eligible for a £202 refund from Sky. However, she requested my date of birth, which I refused to provide. I wisely decided to end the call and informed her that I would contact Sky customer services directly.

Just had a call from someone named "Rosie" saying she was from the Sky rebate team and that I was owed £202. I wouldn’t give her my date of birth as that’s private and unnecessary. She said it was to verify who I was but I told her she was the one who called me! She even tried to prove she wasn’t a scammer by offering her details, but I said any scammer would say that and suggested Sky should email me like they usually do for payments. Then she hung up. Why can’t these calls be stopped? I’m usually cautious but worried my elderly family members will fall for it. It’s just wrong.

This morning, I received a telephone call from a lady with a South East Asian accent claiming to be from Sky. She informed me that Sky owed me a refund of £202. The caller asked for my name, but I did not verify it. However, she correctly stated my postcode. Telling her to send the refund via postal mail, I promptly ended the call. Just a heads up, everyone!

They rang me up twice today saying I was due a £202 refund from Sky. I fed them loads of fake info and kept 'em chatting for about 7 minutes before I finally ended the call. You'd think Sky would have a clue this scam's going round, and BT probs knows too. So why aren't they doing anything to stop it?

Had the exact same thing happen to me. Got two calls, first from a lady then a bloke. Both claimed they were calling from Sky’s Refund team and said we were entitled to £202 back. They even had our address, then wanted my birthday. I told them I don’t share personal info like that and if they were legit, they’d already have our details to sort the refund. The second time I told the guy I’d checked with Sky and they said no refund was owed, he just hung up. Definitely a SCAM.

Just got another call from a woman with a foreign accent (had one earlier today around 8.30am) saying I’m owed a refund of £202 related to Sky tv. She even mentioned my address, then asked for my date of birth. I told her I knew it was a scam and that I’d be reporting it to the proper authorities, and she hung up. Definitely a scam, watch out!

This number keeps ringing me around 8.30 in the morning and a bit after. I never pick up, and it looks like a bogus number anyway since you can't even call it back. Isn't there anything anyone can do to stop these scam calls?

Received a call from a guy, who said his name was Clive and he was Asian. He claimed I was owed £202 back from Sky. Thing is, I haven’t had Sky for over two years, so I asked which months the refund was for. Clive couldn’t provide any details. Then he wanted my birthdate, which I refused to give him. I asked if they could send me the refund by cheque, and right as I said that, he just cut the call. Definitely looks like a scam to me.

I've been getting calls almost every other day from people saying they're from SKY's refund team. Sometimes it's a bloke, other times a woman, and it's been going on for weeks now. Honestly, I'm sick of it! How come BT and SKY haven't done anything to stop this? Looks like this scam has been going on for ages! Proper dodgy.

I just blocked the number on my caller ID box. Hopefully, they get the hint and stop trying to swindle me. Not having any of their scams!
