Encountered a rather discourteous gentleman from India earlier on my landline. He made an odd spectacle of clearing his throat repeatedly before launching into his spiel. Apparently, he claimed that my computer was afflicted with a virus and was on the verge of being disabled. How absurd!

Got a call from some Indian place, claiming to be 'Windows' support - yeah, right. They asked for my landlord by name, but said it all wrong and it’s a pretty common one anyway. I hung up, but they kept ringing me back like three times within a couple of minutes. Didn’t fall for it at all. Total scam.

Got a call from 006492947273, a really rude woman with an Indian accent. She kept chatting to my mum for ages, threatening that her Windows account would be closed in half an hour if she didn’t comply. When we finally ended the call, another number rang back with an Indian bloke on the line. I picked up and told him I’d looked up the number and knew it was a scam, so he just went quiet. Then they kept ringing for about 10 minutes straight, but we let it go to voicemail and they never even bothered leaving a message.

Got calls from some rude Indian lady who kept saying the usual stuff everyone else has been getting. She rang me 16 times in a row, non-stop! Honestly, can't believe people still fall for that scam.

This number kept ringing non-stop on Saturday morning, like from 10.35am on 7/7/18 and honestly, it felt like a complete con. So frustrating! I ended up informing the police about it. Such bad manners too!

This woman from India kept ringing me non-stop. She left loads of messages on my voicemail about some big scam errors. After she kept calling about ten times in just five minutes, I had to unplug the phone because I kept hanging up on her.

Received a call around 2:25 pm from 006 492 947 273 where they claimed there was a virus on my computer. I refused to cooperate, and then the caller warned me that my computer would be locked in half an hour. Quite suspicious if you ask me.

On Tuesday 26th June 2018 at 10:21 BST, my UK phone rang from 006492947273. The person said he was calling from Windows Support. I replied that the windows in my home are nearly a century old and don’t need any help. He got increasingly frustrated and threatened to block my computer. I told him to do whatever he wanted, and then he just hung up. I didn’t get any more calls for the next hour. As you can guess, my computer is still perfectly fine.

Today I got a call from a woman speaking with an East Asian accent. She kept calling back around four or five times, apparently talking about something to do with my computer. I tried ignoring it at first but she wouldn’t give up. In the end, I just let it ring out twice, for a few minutes each time, and that seemed to make her stop. Not the nicest experience, I gotta say.

I received a call originating from New Zealand, and the lady at the other end claimed I was experiencing issues with my computer. She had quite a composed and authoritative tone. After hanging up on her four times, I eventually decided to let her have her own space. She maintained that it wasn't a nuisance call, yet assured me that I was facing some sort of trouble and would soon be unable to utilise my computer.

Got a call from 006492 947273, some bloke pretending to be from Windows support. He gave me some CLSID code, saying it was unique to my PC, but it’s not true. Told me to type 'assoc' in the command prompt to ‘verify’ something. Total scam, I reckon if I’d gone along with it, they’d ask to take control of my computer to ‘sort’ the problem. Stay clear of these fake support calls!

Got a call the other day, and as soon as I heard an Indian lady say she was ringing from Windows, I just popped the phone by my radio and walked off. Not long after I ended that call, another one came through asking why I’d cut her off - back on the radio it went. Then a third call came, but it just went straight to answerphone.

Got a call from some bloke from India saying there’s illegal stuff happening on my mum’s computer - problem is, she doesn’t even have a PC! When I told him that, he went proper rude and started calling her names because she can’t buy a computer. That just set me off, so I told him to go back to wherever he came from and mind his own business, quite bluntly haha!

Claimed to be calling from Windows support, but I told him to bugger off. He had the audacity to ring me again straight away. So, I just ended the call. Then he tried his luck once more. I promptly hung up again.

I got a call from a lady claiming to be from Windows security. I told her I wasn’t interested and ended the call. She rang back a few more times, which I just ignored by letting it ring out. Then when I answered again, she sounded quite pushy, asking why I hung up, saying it wasn’t a scam or sales call. She insisted my Windows computer had a virus and needed fixing. I just hung up on her again. They phoned a couple more times after that, but thankfully they eventually gave up.

Got called a couple of times today by someone saying they were from Microsoft claiming my computer was getting "hacked" and they wanted my computer ID number. I told the lady, who said her name was Lisa, that I didn't think it was legit and hung up. I’ve seen others here say the same thing so feels like a scam.

Got a call from a bloke who said his name was Tony, sounded like he had a heavy Indian accent. He said he was calling from the Windows tech support team and wanted my name. I didn’t hang about and just ended the call there. I’ve had these kind of dodgy calls a few years ago but hadn’t heard from them in about 4 years. It’s definitely a scam!

This guy from India kept ringing me non stop. Finally I told him if he didnt stop I’d take legal action for harassment. Right after that he blocked me on his end.

Got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent, saying my Windows wasn’t genuine. I told her I actually use a Mac. Then she handed me over to a bloke who claimed my Mac was spreading viruses. I said I don’t have a computer at all. He proceeded to read out my name and address, insisting he had to sort my computer out. When he asked if I was running Linux, I just told him where to stick it. Eventually, he twigged I wasn’t playing along. Added their numbers to my block list after they called about five or six times. I just hung up each time until they gave up.

Had a guy ring me up with a strong Indian accent, saying my computer was infected and they were about to block it. I just hung up straight away but he was back on the line three more times! I told him it felt like harassment and even mentioned I don’t actually own a computer. He insisted they had proof of someone using one at my place. He only stopped pestering me after I asked him to verify my home address. Quite a pushy and creepy experience, to be honest.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent, talking about some issue with my computer and asking for the computer ID. He said he’d have a tech advisor help me out, then just ended the call. He rang me a couple of times more, but I cut off both calls straight away. Definitely a scam.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent. He said he had a computer ID number and wanted me to open up my PC to confirm the code and prove who he was. Claimed there were virus complaints coming from my machine that he had to check. Told him my power had gone out so I couldn’t do it just then. He said he’d call back later. I’ll be ready for him then!

I received a call from a woman with an Indian accent, purporting to be from Windows support. She harangued me about a supposed security problem and ominously warned that she would freeze my laptop unless I allowed her some time to sort it out. Quite the nerve!

I got a call from a quite pushy woman who spoke with an Indian accent. She asked for my computer’s unique code, saying she needed to check if my Windows was genuine because supposedly others were using it without permission. She warned me I’d lose access if I didn’t provide the code. I hung up but she rang me back immediately. After a few times, I just stopped picking up. Later, I looked this up online and found out it’s a known scam.
