I never pick up calls from numbers I don’t recognise, so when I heard the voicemail being left, it was clear straight away it was scammers again. These random calls are getting really annoying, but at least they don’t ever manage to speak to me.

This number just rang me up out of the blue. The person on the other end was trying to convince me to mess with my computer, but I wasn’t having any of it. Plus, my internet provider isn’t even BT, so that gave it away straight away. Quite funny, really.

Some con artists pretending to be from BT called me. I was running Ubuntu Studio on my phone and managed to keep them talking for about 30 minutes before my battery gave out. At least for that half hour, they were stuck wasting their time on me instead of tricking other folks.

Got a call from the same old Indian scam crew pretending to be BT. Guy was asking if I was the primary internet user here. I said something like "probably, yes.” Then he started on about some issues with my connection recently. I kept replying "yes, yes" and trying to imitate his exaggerated accent, making him sound like “bhutt, bhutt two ninety nine” or whatever. Each time he told me “listen carefully,” I just got more cheeky with my “yes, yes” answers until eventually, he just hung up on me.

Got a call back from those Indian callers after just a couple of hours, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number now.

Here we go again, getting a call supposedly from BT saying someone abroad is trying to hack my internet (which is a laugh, considering how rubbish my connection is at home). I decided to have a bit of fun and pretended to go along with what she said. When she asked what the on-screen message was, I told her something like, "It tells me to tell you lot to sod off with your scams, and if you ring this number ever again..." To my amazement, they just hung up straight away.

Got two calls today, one was dead silent and the other I picked up. When an Asian lady said she was calling from BT, I told her straight she was a scammer and ended the call. She even had the nerve to ring back again. Luckily, I have caller ID so I could spot her number. From what I’ve read here, they seem to already have some info on you. Proper suspicious lot.

I got a call from 0061424412563 and the bloke said he was from BT. He told me my internet security was at risk and asked me to switch on my computer and log in. I asked him for proof that he was really with BT and then he just ended the call. Bit dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call on my work number, which almost never happens. The country code showed Australia, but the voice on the other end sounded like a bunch of scammers from China. They claimed it was about my BT service, so I asked why they were calling from Australia. They just hung up straight away. Looking back, I probably should've played along briefly to find out what details they had on me.

I got a call from someone saying they were with “telephone services management” and said they could stop nuisance calls for me. When I asked who they were and for a contact number, they said “Lesica Wilson” and gave the number 02032903148. The line was really noisy so I couldn’t be certain about the details. Obviously, I haven’t bothered to call the number back.

I've been getting quite a few calls from the 0061 code, which is Australia, and from my experience, they're all just scams. If you don't recognise the number, best not to pick up and just block it if possible. Luckily, my phone lets me block not just specific numbers but entire area codes too. The few that got through before I set this up were firmly told to buzz off in no uncertain terms!

a woman with an asian accent called me saying something about a call blocking service. Usually i dont pick up the landline but it wouldn’t stop ringing all morning so i gave in and answered. she asked if she was speaking to me by name, but I told her i didn’t want anything and to stop calling. yeah right, that’s gonna happen!
