there’s this amazon prime phone scam going around where they tell you your subscription is going to renew automatically and charge £79, then ask you to press 1 to stop it and talk to someone (usually with a foreign accent). watch out, they’ll try to get you to download team viewer so they can see everything you type, including passwords, and then steal money from your accounts. it’s a well-known trick now and action fraud know about it. best thing is just to hang up right away.

There's been a lot of talk about this Amazon Prime scam going around. Basically, a recorded message says your Prime subscription is about to renew and £79 will be taken from your bank. They tell you to press 1 to stop it and then connect you to someone, usually with a foreign accent. Whatever you do, don’t install Team Viewer or any remote software because they’ll see everything you type including passwords, and then try draining your bank. Action Fraud already knows about it. Best thing is to just ignore and hang up right away.
