Got a call from 006128318023 claiming to be about Ms Jessica Thompson and some funds release from a US Masterfund at the Treasury department. Since I’m in finance, I know there’s no such thing. This was obviously a phishing attempt. Don’t hesitate, just block the number and notify the police straight away.

Two calls from dodgy numbers today, 0060148811482 and 01624830192, both had the same recorded threat about cutting my internet off in a day or two if I didn’t press 1. Looks like a classic scam to me.

I got a voicemail from 00601172946681 earlier on 14/9/20 saying my subscription price has gone up to £79.99. It told me to press 1 to change it or 3 for details. I just blocked the number and deleted the message straight away.

I received a rather peculiar call from someone claiming to be in "California," despite the fact the number appears to be based in Malaysia. The caller stated they were representing a client eager to purchase shares that supposedly belong to me - I’ve only got a handful remaining from a sell-off ages ago. He suggested that my tiny stake could somehow influence a company takeover. Right, as if my few shares would hold any clout against the millions out there! They even offered to pay me twice the current market value - all he needed was my banking information to arrange the transfer. How quaint! Naturally, I politely turned down his offer!

I received a call today from 00601###, which struck me as odd since it was a Saturday and I figured it wouldn’t be from any business I engage with-after all, no one's operating on the weekend! All my personal calls come through to my mobile, leading me to conclude it wasn’t anyone I knew. I opted not to pick up as they let it ring for a considerable time. Curiosity got the better of me, so I looked into the number after not recognising it, and subsequently blocked it. Upon further investigation here, I found out that it’s a Malaysian phone code, which puzzles me as I don't have any acquaintances there. Sounds a bit dodgy, if you ask me! Just thought I’d share this for anyone else in the North West of England who might find themselves in a similar situation.
