Got a call from 006128318023 claiming to be about Ms Jessica Thompson and some funds release from a US Masterfund at the Treasury department. Since I’m in finance, I know there’s no such thing. This was obviously a phishing attempt. Don’t hesitate, just block the number and notify the police straight away.

Two calls from dodgy numbers today, 0060148811482 and 01624830192, both had the same recorded threat about cutting my internet off in a day or two if I didn’t press 1. Looks like a classic scam to me.

I got a voicemail from 00601172946681 earlier on 14/9/20 saying my subscription price has gone up to £79.99. It told me to press 1 to change it or 3 for details. I just blocked the number and deleted the message straight away.

Got a call supposedly from someone in 'California' but the number showed up as Malaysia. He claimed to be working for a buyer interested in purchasing the shares I supposedly hold (which I do have, something like ### from an old sale ages ago) to gain control of the company. As if my tiny stake would even matter among millions of shares out there. He tried to tempt me with an offer twice the market price - all he needed was my bank info to send the payment. Nice try! Didn't fall for it and just said no, thanks!

Today, on a Saturday, I got a call from 00601###. Since it’s the weekend, I figured it wasn’t anyone from a business I deal with because they usually don’t call on non-working days. I only get personal calls on my mobile, so it wasn’t anyone I know. I didn’t pick up but the phone rang for quite a while before they gave up. Later, I looked up the number as it was totally unfamiliar to me and ended up blocking it. From what I found here, it looks like it’s a Malaysian phone code, a place I have no ties to, so it’s likely just some kind of scam. I’m based in the North West of England, just in case that matters.
