I've been getting up to 4 calls each day from "b.t" about my internet. I keep telling them (and Microsoft, who call nearly as much, lol) that I don't have a computer or internet, and I definitely ain't a b.t customer. One time I answered pretending to be the Northumbria police fraud team, and this guy "john" asked if I wanted to do stuff with him. He called back after I hung up and again 30 mins later, but my husband kinda scared him off. It's clear now it's a scam since surely b.t wouldn't be offering those kinda "services" to customers?

Just got two calls back to back from BT Openreach about some "issues with your router" - first time I've had anything like this after loads of "Microsoft" scams. I 'nicely' told the first bloke ('John') he was clearly trying to scam me, and asked the second one ('David') for a contact number so I could ring BT and verify if this call centre in India was legit. Believe it or not, he actually gave me a number - 0044 9173 216977. Needless to say, I’m not actually bothering to call BT and will just treat any more calls from these muppets with the disdain they deserve!

Got a call from a "John Williams" with an Indian accent, said he was from BT Openreach near Paddington Station and told me my computer was full of viruses. This happened three times in one week. Has anyone else had calls like this or know who’s behind them?

Got a call today from 007704335632 claiming to be from BT Openreach. I let him speak for a bit but then ended the call. He kept ringing back a few times. Eventually, I picked up again and told him I wasn’t interested. He sounded pretty annoyed, said I’d wasted his time.

For the last few weeks, this number has been blowing up my phone, like 8 to 10 calls every single day. I picked up yesterday and again today. The first call was a lady with an Indian accent claiming she was from Eir and said there were issues with my internet security settings. Then the next call was from a man with a strong accent, and when I told him I knew it was a scam, he got really rude and angry. I told him to quit calling me. Despite that, they still rang me four more times today!

Over the last year, this number has rung me up loads of times. Fed up with all the calls, I finally picked up today, guessing it was probably just another scam. A woman, who spoke with an Indian accent, asked me to switch on my computer. The call quality was really poor, so it was obvious it was a VOIP call. She said I had connection problems recently and claimed she was from Eir. I told her I wasn’t going to turn on my PC because I knew exactly what she was after - trying to hack it. I also warned her I’d trace her IP and involve the police. She quickly got nasty after that. I asked her which internet provider I had, since it definitely wasn’t Eir, and figured if she was legit she’d know. Then she went quiet before shouting abuse down the line. I told her to stop calling or I’d definitely report her to the cops. It’s crazy how they get hold of our numbers and keep pestering us like this. Poor folks who fall for this must be having a terrible time.

Just like others have said, it’s super frustrating - they’ve been ringing me non stop from last year up to now. I told them to stop calling loads of times but they just keep going. Honestly, I’m clueless about what else to try…

This number has bugged me like 4 times just today, and I swear it was ringing a bunch last week as well. Every single time though, no one answers. Seriously, does anyone know how to block this number for good? Also, why are they even getting hold of our digits in the first place? Total mystery!

I get about 3 or 4 calls daily from this number. Sometimes the call just drops, but other times they keep trying to get me to link my computer to theirs. One time, the person on the line even insulted me and called me stupid.

It kicked off a few days back with some lady with a really strong accent telling us there’s an issue with our wifi - we just ended the call straight away. Anyway, today alone they’ve rung about 10 times. The first call was a robot saying goodbye, then loads of calls where no one says anything. During the last one, my husband was so fed up he said down the phone, “You’re seriously getting on my nerves, I’m aware this is a scam so stop ringing this number.” Surprisingly, the person on the other end actually apologised!

I've been getting loads of calls from this number. Seems like it's some kind of automated system ringing first, then when you pick up, a real person starts talking.

Got a few calls this week from someone claiming to be BT Openreach saying there’s a problem with my computer. Told them I don’t even own a computer, then they tried saying maybe it’s your laptop. I told them I don’t have one either and just ended the call. Number was 00587544530.

Had a bunch of calls today, plus quite a few over the weekend. Finally, I just let out a loud whistle into the phone, hoping the bloke from Pakistan who's been bugging us understands the hint.

Recently my elderly mum has been getting loads of calls from this number. Every time she answers, there’s just a busy signal. She tried calling it back herself and got the same busy tone. Strange!

When they picked up once, the caller told them to switch on their computer straight away. Of course, they didn’t. They’ve already got the Garda involved - I’d say you should report it too.

This number rang me three times today, starting as early as 8 o'clock. Believe it or not, that makes seven calls from them just over the weekend!

For the last seven days, and even getting three calls from the same number in one day, I keep getting calls from folks claiming to work for Eircom. They keep telling me the same thing everyone else here mentions. It's honestly shocking that their system doesn't seem to blacklist or get rid of numbers they’ve already tried, especially when they must know we’re onto their scam by now!

Got a call from this number at 8:59 am, answered with a quick "Hello?" After a short pause, some robot voice just said, "Bye." Strange!

Yesterday, I got two calls mid-morning and later in the afternoon. First, it was a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT Openreach, then a man saying the same. I told them I don’t own a computer and just hung up. This morning at 8am, they rang me again but I ignored it. When I checked the number with a 1471 redial, it showed up as 0058754530 once more. I’m sure I'll be getting more calls from them today - it's proper annoying and frustrating.

So this number rang me yesterday, and some bloke with a thick Asian accent called himself "Steve". When I said, "You’re not really Steve, are you?", he just hung up straight away. Since then, I've had a couple more calls - one where the person was yelling insults at me, and another early morning one at around 8am that was completely silent. Watch out for this one!

Got two calls early this morning, both from people speaking with Indian accents. One claimed they were from BT Openreach, the other mentioned something about a recent disconnection on my line. As soon as I answered, they cut the call pretty sharpish.

Got a call today around midday on Monday the 7th December 2015, but it was just silence and then a robotic voice hung up. Really odd experience.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Openreach, but the accent gave it away straight away - sounded like it was coming from India. I played along for about 20 minutes, making it seem like I was following his instructions, just to keep him hanging. Eventually, I got fed up and ended the call. This was the third time I’d had one of these dodgy calls today. Proper scam, really annoying.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be with BT Openreach, going on about hackers breaking into my computer and nicking all my data. He wanted me to let him in to fix it. Told him my IT guy would handle it, then he got really annoyed and just hung up on me!

Today this number showed up on my private landline - how the hell do they even get hold of these? It’s crazy how they keep invading our privacy like this, honestly, they need to be stopped right away!

Got a call this morning from someone claiming my computer was infected with viruses. We ended up having a pretty heated chat before I finally just hung up. Seriously hope these annoying calls get stopped soon!

I've got three calls today claiming to be from BT or Bt Openreach. When I called BT, they said it's not their problem and I told them I'd report it. But the calls keep coming. I just hang up straight away. It's obviously scammers from overseas. Never give out your bank info! They keep going because they're international, so it's hard to stop them. Someone really needs to do something about this, it's going to fool older and vulnerable people.

Had a bloke on the line claiming to be from BT Broadband, but honestly I could hardly make out a word, sounded like he was calling from somewhere like Bogiwogistan. Definitely get it blocked!

Got a silent call at 12.50 on Tuesday 3rd Nov, lasted about 15 seconds. Then it finished with some robot voice saying ‘bye’.

Everytime my phone rings, there’s nobody on the other end - it’s really frustrating!

After this call ended (I didn’t even pick up), my router got stuck for a good minute or so. Honestly, BT really needs to block this number!
